After a victory on the road against Texas Tech the Oklahoma Baseball Team improved their record to 28-10 (9-5 in conference). The Big 12 is a notoriously difficult conference to compete in, and the Sooners have shown they can hang with the best of them.

Led by dynamic play from senior second baseman Austin Shenton, the Sooners were able to put up 4 runs in the first 3 innings. It would have been more, but a 5-4-3 double play stranded two runners in scoring position in the top of the 2nd.

The Sooners never looked back after that. Shenton ended up getting 2 hits and 2 RBIs on the day, while freshman Left fielder Brady Harlan continued his torrid pace at the plate with another 3 hits. The final score was 8-5, which flattered Texas Tech a bit – they added 2 runs in garbage time in the 9th inning.

OU starting pitcher Alec Asher was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after he allowed just two runs in six innings of work. Asher also had two hits and two RBIs in the game to help his own cause. The Sooners will face off against Texas again tomorrow at 1:00 pm CT in their final game of the season.
