The Mississippi Baseball Team is composed of 27 athletes that come from all over the country. The roster is made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores, with a few upperclassmen sprinkled in. Here is a breakdown of the roster by position.

The Coaches

The Ole Miss baseball team is coached by Mike Bianco, who is entering his twentieth season with the Rebels. Under Bianco, the team has made eleven NCAA tournament appearances and four trips to the College World Series The pitching coach is Carl Lafferty, who is in his second season with the team. The hitting coach is John Thomas who is also in his second season with Ole Miss

The Schedule

Ole Miss will open the 2019 season at home on February 15 against Wright State The Rebels will play a total of 56 games this season, with 27 of those games taking place at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. Ole Miss will face SEC foes Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State Missouri, South Carolina Tennessee and Texas A&M. The Rebels will also take on non-conference opponents UAB, Houston Baptist Winthrop, Illinois Chicago (UIC), Memphis and North Carolina Central.

The History

Ole Miss Baseball has a long and storied history, dating back to the late 1800s. The team has won several SEC titles and made several appearances in the College World Series The roster is full of talented players, both past and present. The Rivalries

Ole Miss has some intense rivals in the SEC, particularly when it comes to baseball. Here are some of the top rivalries:

-Alabama: The Crimson Tide and Ole Miss have been rivals since 1892. The two teams have met 205 times on the diamond, with Alabama leading the series 107-95.

-Arkansas: The Razorbacks and Rebels have been playing each other since 1897. Arkansas leads the all-time series 122-102.

-Auburn: These two teams have been going at it since 1900. Auburn holds a slight advantage in the all-time series, 109-106.

-Florida: The Gators and Rebels have been playing each other since 1912. Florida has dominated the series, winning 135 of the 195 games played between the two schools.

The Traditions

Ole Miss Baseball is steeped in tradition. From the moment you set foot on campus, you can feel the history. The program has been around since 1893 and has produced some of the game’s greatest players including two-time Major League Baseball Most Valuable Player (MVP) Justin Verlander. The team competes in the second-oldest ballpark in the country, Swayze Field, and the fans are some of the most passionate in all of college baseball

The Walk of Champions
Before every Home game the team walks from The Inn at Ole Miss to Swayze Field through a crowd of screaming fans. It’s a tradition that started in 2006 and has become one of the most popular game-day traditions on campus.

The Giant Foam Finger
An Ole Miss tradition that dates back to 1987, “The Giant Foam Finger” is one of college baseball’s most recognizable props. It made its debut at the College World Series that year and has been a staple at Ole Miss baseball games ever since.

Hotty Toddy
You can’t talk about Ole Miss traditions without mentioning “Hotty Toddy.” The phrase is synonymous with Ole Miss and can be heard being chanted by fans at sporting events and other school functions. There is no one correct way to say “Hotty Toddy,” but here’s how it goes:

We say “ Hotty Toddy, Gosh Almighty, Who in the hell are we? Hey! Flim Flam, Bim Bam Ole Miss BY DAMN! ”
