Get to know the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team! We have compiled a list of player bios so you can learn more about the team.
Sabrina Ionescu
Sabrina Ionescu is a guard for the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team She is from Walnut Creek, California and attended Miramonte High School where she was a three-time first-team all-league selection. Ionescu was also named the 2015 Gatorade National Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American. She played in the USA Basketball Women’s U19 World Championship in 2016, where she helped lead the team to a gold medal Ionescu was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and earned All-Pac-12 first team and All-Freshman team honors in 2017.
Ruthy Hebard
Ruthy Hebard is a 6’4″ center from Fairbanks, Alaska. She is in her junior year at the University of Oregon and she is a big part of the Ducks’ success so far this season.
Hebard was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week on December 4, 2017, after averaging 22 points and 11 rebounds in Oregon’s wins over Mississippi State and Oklahoma State
She has started all 27 games for the Ducks this season, and is averaging 16.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game Hebard’s 674 total points scored so far this season are the most ever by a Duck in their first two years at Oregon.
Satou Sabally
Satou Sabally is a 6’4″ forward from Berlin, Germany. She is the daughter of former Senegalese professional basketball player Aicha Sabally. Satou was a McDonald’s All-American in 2017 and helped lead her team to a state championship her senior year of high school She was also named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Oregon in 2017. Sabally has been a key player for the Oregon Ducks women’s Basketball team since she arrived on campus. She was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2018 and has been named to the All-Pac-12 team in each of her first two seasons.
Erin Boley
Erin Boley is a 6-foot forward from Owensboro, Kentucky. Boley averaged 22.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game as a senior at Owensboro Catholic high school She was named Kentucky’s Miss Basketball for 2017 and was a McDonald’s All-American. Boley originally committed to Notre Dame before transferring to Oregon.
Maite Cazorla
Maite Cazorla, a 5-foot-8 guard from Pamplona, Spain, is in her first season with the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team Cazorla was a member of the Spanish national team that won the gold medal at the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup
Anneli Malegan
A 6-foot-6 center from Gothenburg, Sweden, Malegan is a redshirt sophomore who is looking to make an impact this season after sitting out last year due to NCAA transfer rules. Malegan came to Oregon from South Dakota State where she averaged 5.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in two seasons with the Jackrabbits.
Lydia Giomi
Lydia Giomi is a 6’6″ center from Eugene, Oregon. She is in her junior year at the University of Oregon and is majoring in sociology. Lydia has played in all but one of Oregon’s games this season, and is averaging 3.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.
Minyon Moore
Minyon Moore is a 5-foot-9 guard from Dallas, Texas. She was a McDonald’s All-American in 2016 and played in the Jordan Brand Classic. As a senior in high school she averaged 23.5 points, 5.8 assists and 4.5 steals per game. Moore was named the Gatorade Texas Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Naismith Trophy, which is given to the nation’s top high school player.
Aina Ayuso
Aina Ayuso is a redshirt sophomore on the Oregon Ducks women’s Basketball team The 5-foot-8-inch guard is from Barcelona, Spain and attended high school at The Patterson School in North Carolina Ayuso was a four-star recruit according to ESPN and was ranked as the No. 53 player in the class of 2016. She played one season of college basketball at the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to Oregon. Ayuso has not yet played for the Ducks due to NCAA transfer rules.
Gabby Williams
A 6-0 guard/forward from Sparks, Nev., Williams was a member of the USA Basketball U18 team that won the FIBA Americas Championship in Colorado Springs in 2013. She started all five games and averaged 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as the United States went 5-0 to capture the gold medal.
