Professional basketball player Paschall has had a circuitous journey to finding an NBA team He was undrafted out of college and spent time playing in the NBA D-League and in Europe before finally being picked up by the Golden State Warriors
Paschall is not your typical NBA player he is older, at 28, and has spent years honing his craft in different leagues. But his perseverance has paid off and he is now a valuable member of the Warriors’ rotation.

Paschall’s journey: from being undrafted to joining the Warriors
Paschall went undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft but he didn’t let that discourage him. He signed with the Golden State Warriors and immediately began working hard to make an impact on the team.
During his rookie season, Paschall averaged 10.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game. He was a key player off the bench for the Warriors and helped them win the NBA Finals
Now, heading into his sophomore season, Paschall is expected to have an even bigger role with the team. He’s worked hard to improve his game and is looking forward to helping the Warriors win another championship.
How Paschall’s journey has helped him develop as an NBA player
Paschall was born in Detroit and played his High School ball in the suburbs. He then spent a post-graduate year at a prep school in New Hampshire, before heading to Villanova. As a sophomore, he helped the Wildcats win the national title. After two more years in college, Paschall was drafted by the Warriors with the 41st pick in 2019.
Paschall has bounced around quite a bit during his young NBA Career He started last season with Golden State but was traded to the Atlanta Hawks midway through the year. This past offseason, he was dealt again, this time to the Minnesota Timberwolves But after just a few weeks with Minnesota, Paschall was waived and ended up signing with the Detroit Pistons
All of this moving around might have been tough for some players, but Paschall has used it as an opportunity to develop his game. “It’s been good for my growth,” he said of his journeyman NBA career “I’ve been able to play for different coaches, different organizations and really just learn what it takes to be successful at this level.”
Paschall has certainly had to work hard for everything he’s achieved so far in his NBA career But all of that journeyman experience has helped him become a better player…and it might just help him find a home with the Pistons for years to come.
What Paschall has learned from his NBA journey
Alvin Paschall wasn’t sure what his basketball future held when he was waived by the Golden State Warriors in December 2019. The journeyman had played for five NBA teams in his first four seasons, including two stints with the Warriors, and he was about to become a free agent for the second time in his career.
But after a month of waiting, Paschall finally caught on with the Detroit Pistons signing a two-year deal with the team in January 2020. And since then, he’s been making the most of his opportunity, averaging 11.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 22 games while shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range
Paschall’s story is one of perseverance and determination, as he’s worked his way up from being an undrafted player to becoming a key rotation player for a Pistons team that is fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference
And while Paschall knows that he still has a lot to learn and that there are no guarantees in the NBA, he’s grateful for the opportunity that he has been given and is determined to make the most of it.
How Paschall’s journey has changed him as a person
Paschall’s NBA journey has been a long and hard one. He’s been through eight different teams in his eight-year career. But, he’s finally found a home with the Golden State Warriors And, he’s changed as a person because of it.
Paschall began his journey with the Charlotte Bobcats He then went to the Golden State Warriors Houston Rockets Sacramento Kings Milwaukee Bucks New Orleans Pelicans Phoenix Suns and finally back to the Warriors. It’s been a long road for Paschall, but he’s grateful for it.
“I think the journey made me into who I am today,” Paschall said. “It helped me appreciate the little things.”
Paschall is now in his second stint with the Warriors. He’s found a home with them and has become an important part of their team. He’s averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds per game this season.
“It feels good (to be appreciated),” Paschall said. “BUT I just want to win.”
And that’s what Paschall is all about. He just wants to win. He knows that he can do that with the Warriors. They are currently in first place in the Western Conference with a record of 47-14.
What Paschall’s journey has taught him about himself
Paschall was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft and excelled in Summer League play, but was waived by the team just before the regular season began. He then joined the Santa Cruz Warriors Golden State’s G League affiliate, and played 27 games for them before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in February 2020. Paschall appeared in just two games for the Hawks before the NBA season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Paschall was a member of the Hawks’ training camp roster for the 2020-21 season, but was again waived before the start of the regular season He then joined the Austin Spurs San Antonio’s G League affiliate.
Paschall has battled adversity throughout his young NBA career but he has never allowed himself to get discouraged.
“I’ve learned that I can’t control everything,” Paschall said of his journey. “I just need to focus on what I can control and that’s going out there and playing hard every single night.”
Paschall is averaging 15.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in 32 games for the Spurs this season.

Paschall’s NBA journey has been a long and winding one, but it has helped him grow as a player.
Paschall was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 2014, but he was traded to the Toronto Raptors before he could play a game for the Bulls. He then spent time with the Raptors’ G League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants before being traded to the Houston Rockets
Paschall was then waived by the Rockets, and he spent time with two more G League teams the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and the Long Island Nets before finally getting his chance in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets
Paschall has appeared in just 17 NBA games but he has shown flashes of potential. He is a physical player who can rebound and finish at the basket. He is also a good shooter, and he showed that he can knock down threes when given the opportunity.

“It’s been good for me, just being able to see different places, different cultures, play with different guys,” Paschall told ESPN. “It’s helped my game a lot, just seeing how everybody else plays and being able to take little things from each city and each place I’ve been.”
Paschall said he has tried to model his game after that of Draymond Green one of his former teammates with the Warriors.
“He’s just a winner,” Paschall said of Green. “The way he approaches every day, every practice, every film session, every game — he approaches it like it’s his last. And I think that’s something that I took from him.”
