The Waves haven’t had much success in recent years but that is starting to change. The team has a new coach, Eric Maust, who has brought a fresh approach to the program. Maust has instilled a new level of discipline and dedication in his players.

As any Pepperdine student can tell you, our school has a great Baseball team The Waves have been ranked as high as second in the nation and have made it to the College World Series three times. We’re definitely a team on the rise!
If you’re not a baseball fan you might be wondering why we’re so good. Part of it is our location. Malibu is a Great Place to play baseball and we have access to some of the best facilities in the country. But the biggest reason for our success is our coach, Steve Rodriguez.
Coach Rodriguez has been with the Pepperdine baseball program for nine years, and in that time he’s turned us into a powerhouse. He’s a great motivator, and he knows how to get the best out of his players. under his leadership, we’ve won three West Coast conference championships and made it to the NCAA tournament six times.
The 2020 season was cut short due to the pandemic, but we’re already looking forward to next year. With Coach Rodriguez at the helm, there’s no limit to what we can achieve!

In 2017, the Pepperdine Waves baseball team made it to the College World Series for the first time in program history. The Waves have been to the NCAA tournament six times in the last eight years and are one of the most successful programs in recent memory.
Under head coach Steve Rodriguez the Waves have become one of the top teams in the country. In 2016, Pepperdine won a school-record 43 games and reached the NCAA Super Regionals for the second time in three years.
The Waves have a strong core of returning players from last year’s team, including All-American pitcher J.P. Gates and shortstop Nate Johnson. Gates was named the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year after going 10-1 with a 2.48 ERA in 2017. Johnson was a first-team All-WCC selection last season and is one of the best defensive shortstops in the country.
Pepperdine will open its 2018 season on February 16 against UC Irvine. The Waves will play their home games at Eddy D. Field Stadium, which is located just off campus in Malibu, California.

head coach Sam Lyons has guided the team to a No. 24 ranking in the country, and they’re only getting better. Under his leadership, the Waves have won four straight West Coast Conference championships and made it to the NCAA tournament three times.
The team’s success is thanks in part to its strong pitching staff. Ace pitcher Finn Wittrock is considered one of the best prospects in baseball, and he’s not the only one. Wittrock is joined by fellow All-Americans Nick Lovegrove and Oliver Weaver, who give the Waves a formidable force on the mound.
The Waves also have a solid core of hitters, led by slugger Hutton Moyer. Moyer was named WCC Freshman of the Year in 2016 after hitting .329 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs. He’s just one of many young players on the team with a bright future ahead of them.

The team is led by senior pitcher Nathan Webb, who was named the WCC Pitcher of the Year. Webb finished the season with a 10-3 record and a 2.48 ERA. Other Key Players include junior infielder Braden OlThorp, who hit .361 with six home runs and 42 RBI, and senior catcher Chris Ibarra, who hit .348 with five home runs and 31 RBI.
The Waves will begin their postseason play on Wednesday, May 24th when they take on Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament

Entering the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season the Pepperdine Waves are a team on the rise. After winning just nine games in 2018, the Waves improved to 35-24 in 2019, good for second place in the West Coast Conference (WCC).
Head coach Rick Adair has led the charge for Pepperdine, instilling a new culture of winning and development. He’s done it with a mix of experienced upperclassmen and talented underclassmen. The Waves have been led by senior outfielder Hutton Moyer (.357 batting average 10 Home Runs 60 RBI), junior first baseman Kody Clemens (son of seven-time MLB All-Star Roger Clemens .274 batting average 11 home runs 50 RBI), and sophomore pitcher Ryan Schmitt (9-4, 3.62 ERA).
