Pitt-Ford Baseball is a team on the rise. After years of toiling in mediocrity, the team has made great strides under the tutelage of Head Coach Johnstown, Pennsylvania native Kevin Gray. The Panthers are currently 27-9 overall and ranked fourth in Division III baseball

The Rivalry
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and Mercyhurst University have been fierce rivals in NCAA Division II baseball for years. The two teams have met in the conference tournament Championship game four times, with Pitt-Bradford winning three of those match-ups.
This season, the two teams are once again among the best in the conference, and they are set to face off in the tournament semifinals on May 25.

The Schedule
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Baseball Team has announced its 2019 schedule. The team will play a total of 38 games, 20 of which will be conference matchups.
The Panthers will open the season with a four-game series against Grove City College on Feb. 22-23. The first game of the series is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 22 at McKechnie Field in Bradenton, Fla.
Pitt-Bradford’s home opener is set for Saturday, March 9, against La Roche College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Showers Field in Pittscomo, Pa., weather permitting.
The Roster
Pitt-Radford baseball is a must-see team. The roster is filled with outstanding players who have a passion for the game. From the pitcher to the catcher, every player on the team contributes to its success.
The team is led by senior captain Alex Shevchik, who leads by example on and off the field. Shevchik, a four-year starter, has a career .340 batting average and is one of the best defensive second baseman in the conference.
The pitching staff is anchored by junior right-hander Dylan Jenkins, who was named an All-American last season. Jenkins led the conference in strikeouts and had an ERA under 2.00.
The lineup also features junior right fielder Tyler Lutz, who was named a preseason All-American. Lutz is a dynamic player who can hit for power and average and is also a threat on the base paths.

The Coaches
The Pitt-Ford Baseball team has been a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA Division III ranks, and a big reason for their success has been the coaching of Head Coach Jesse Smith and his staff.
Entering his sixth season at the helm of the Pitt-Bradford program, Smith has compiled a 158-84 (.653) record, leading the Panthers to three Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships and two NCAA Division III Regional appearances.
Under Smith’s leadership, the Panthers have set numerous program records, including wins in a season (29 in 2016), home wins in a season (17 in 2016), road/neutral wins in a season (22 in 2015), conference wins in a season (19 in 2016) and fewest losses in a season (11 in 2016).
The Game
Pitt-Ford baseball is a must-see team. The team competes in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and is consistently ranked among the top teams in the nation. The Panthers have won nine conference championships and have made ten appearances in the NCAA Division III Championship tournament.
The Season
Pitt-Ford Baseball is in Full Swing and the team is on fire. The Panthers have won nine of their last ten games and are looking to make a run at the conference title
Pitt-Bradford is led by senior pitcher Alex Pape, who has been dominant on the mound all season. Pape has an ERA of 1.62 and has struck out 80 batters in just 60 innings pitched He has also been named the AMCC Pitcher of the Week three times this season.
The Panthers offense is no slouch either, as they are averaging nearly six runs per game. The team is led by junior outfielder Eric Beattie, who is hitting .408 with four home runs and 19 RBIs. Beattie was recently named the AMCC Player of the Week.
