Welcome to Pittsburg State Baseball a tradition of excellence since 1904. Over the years, we have produced some of the finest collegiate baseball teams in the country. We have won conference championships and appeared in numerous NCAA tournaments. Our goal is to continue this tradition by recruiting and developing the best student-athletes in the country.
The Team
Pittsburg State baseball has a long tradition of excellence, dating back to the team’s formation in 1908. The team has won numerous conference and Regional Championships and has made several appearances in the NCAA Division II World Series The team is currently coached by Steve Fansler, who has led the team to two conference championships and one regional championship since taking over in 2013.

Pittsburg State has won nine NCAA Division II National Championships in baseball. That’s the second most of any school in the nation, behind only Florida Southern’s 10 titles. The Gorillas have played in the NCAA Division II World Series 21 times, which is also second most in the nation.
The Stadium
The stadium, named after iconic Head Coach Boaen, is located in the heart of campus and provides easy access for students, staff and fans. The facility underwent a multi-Million Dollar renovation in 2019 that added chairback seating for 1,500 patrons, a new press box, an upgraded concessions area and updated restrooms.
The Coaches
The Coaches that have led the Gorillas throughout the years have been some of the most winningest in all of NCAA Division II baseball. From Ned Yost, who went on to manage the Milwaukee Brewers to Steve Lemke, who has the most wins in Pitt State history, the Gorillas have been fortunate to have some great coaches.
