Over the years, Point Loma baseball has undergone many changes. The most significant change occurred in 1966 when the league merged with the San Diego Coast League to form the Point Loma Baseball Association This merger increased the level of competition and made the league more competitive.

The Future of Point Loma Baseball
Point Loma High School has a long and storied history when it comes to baseball. The Pointers have won numerous league and city championships, and they have produced Major League Baseball players like Reggie Smith Mark Langston and Chris Coughlin.
But the future of Point Loma baseball is in jeopardy. The school is in the process of downsizing, and there is talk of eliminating the baseball program altogether.
This would be a huge blow to the community, as baseball is one of the few things that brings people together in this neighborhood. It would also be a loss for the city, as Point Loma is one of the only high schools left that still has a baseball team
The community is fighting to keep the team alive, but time will tell if they are successful. In the meantime, enjoy watching these young men play ball while you still can.
