News
The University of California, San Diego men’s basketball team will enter the 2019-2020 season with a young and inexperienced roster. Just two players on the roster have significant collegiate experience, and only one player has more than two years of experience. The Tritons will rely heavily on newcomers and freshmen to contribute immediately.
Head coach Justin Hayes will enter his second season at the helm of the program. He will look to improve upon UCSD’s 8-22 record from last season. The Tritons will once again compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and will look to make a run at the conference tournament

The 2019-2020 UCSD men’s basketball team will feature a roster of 14 student-athletes, including two seniors, six juniors, four sophomores and two freshmen. The Tritons will be led by seniors George Buaku (San Diego CA) and Eric White (Seattle, WA), who will both be looking to finish their collegiate careers on a high note. The team will also feature junior guard Christian Bayne (Portland, OR), who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2019 NCAA Division II West Regionals after leading UCSD to the Elite Eight.
Rounding out the roster are juniors Wyatt Boicey (Vista, CA), Matt Dorsten (Sacramento, CA), Milan Acquaah (Ghana/Los Angeles CA), Keegan Mitchell (Bakersfield, CA) and Frank Woon-Ming Xu (Newport Beach, CA); sophomores Nate Adams (Loomis, CA), Luke Meckler (Alamo Heights TX) and TJ Holliday (San Antonio TX); and freshmen Chase Caffrey (Florissant Valley, MO) and Matt Meznarich (Oak Park River Forest, IL).
