The RIT Women’s Hockey Team plays in the NCAA Division I as a member of the Ecac Hockey conference. The team is currently coached by Chris Danforth. The Tigers have appeared in the NCAA tournament five times, most recently in 2015.

Team statistics

In their first season in Division I, the RPI women’s Hockey team was one of the most successful expansion teams in NCAA history. They compiled a 21-12-5 record, finished second in the ECAC standings, and made it to the NCAA Tournament The following year, they improved to 25-9-4, won the ECAC regular season and tournament titles, and made it to the Frozen Four.

The team’s success has been fueled by strong play from their forwards and defensemen. Their forwards have been led by junior captain Alina Mueller, who has tallied 50 points in each of her first two seasons with the team. Mueller is joined by fellow juniors Blake Orosz (32 points) and Marisa Raspa (28 points). The team’s defense has been anchored by senior captain Jordan Brickner, who has been named an All-American each of the last two seasons.

Player statistics

Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) women’s hockey team has seen a lot of success in recent years The team has made it to the Frozen Four four times in the last six years, and won the NCAA Division I National Championship in 2012.

The team is led by captain Kendall Coyne, who was named the 2017 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Winner as the top player in NCAA Division I women’s hockey. Coyne is joined by fellow senior forward Jessica Hammer, who was recently named a finalist for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award.

The RIT women’s hockey team has a strong group of forwards, led by Coyne and Hammer. Other key forwards include junior Melissa Gagnon, who was recently named to the Canadian national team for the 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship and sophomore forward Avery Mitchell, who was named Rookie of the Year in the college hockey America conference.

The RIT women’s Hockey Team also has a very strong defensive corps, led by senior defenseman Meghan Fonfara and junior defender Jalynn//

Game highlights

The RIT Women’s Hockey Team have released their schedule for the upcoming season Some game highlights include:

-Oct. 5 vs. Syracuse: The Tigers open their season at home against Syracuse. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since RIT left the college hockey America conference to join the National Collegiate Hockey conference

-Dec. 7-8 vs. Mercyhurst: The Tigers will host Mercyhurst for a two-game series. This will be the first time RIT has faced Mercyhurst since 2015, when the Tigers were still in the CHA conference.

-Jan. 11 vs. Cornell: The Tigers will take on Cornell at home in a non-conference game. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2014, when RIT was still in the CHA conference.

-Feb. 1 vs Boston University The Tigers will take on Boston University at home in a non-conference game. This is always a tough matchup, as BU is one of the top teams in Hockey East

Player profiles

Rochester Institute of Technology has announced its women’s Hockey Schedule for the 2017-2018 season The team is set to compete in 34 games, with 17 of those at home in the Ritter Arena.

The Tigers are coming off a successful 2016-2017 campaign in which they went 22-11-3 overall and 15-5-2 in conference play good for second place in the CHA. They will look to build on that success this season with a core group of experienced players.

Forwards Cassie Clayton, Delaney Lyon and captain McKenzie Way are all returning for their senior seasons. They will be joined by junior Shae Labbe, who was RIT’s leading scorer last season with 16 goals and 36 points.

On defense, the Tigers will have seniors Megan Lushanko and Jordan Lambert back, as well as junior Sarah Michalowski. In goal, they will return sophomore Brooke Stoddart, who posted a .912 save percentage last season.

RIT Women’s Hockey history

The RIT women’s Hockey team is a college Ice Hockey team that represents the Rochester Institute of Technology. The team competes in the NCAA Division I as a member of ECAC Hockey RIT has been a member of ECAC Hockey since the 2012-13 season. The Tigers play their home games at the Gene Polisseni Center,

Rochester Institute of Technology fielded its first women’s Ice hockey team in 1974. The Tigers competed as an independent team until they joined ECAC West in 1984. In 1999, RIT moved to ECAC North where they would compete until 2003. In 2003, the school announced it would elevate its women’s ice hockey program to Division I and join college hockey America (CHA). As part of the transition to Division I, RIT was not eligible for conference or national tournaments for four years.

In 2007, the Tigers won the CHA tournament and earned their first trip to the NCAA Division I Women’s ice hockey Tournament. RIT would go on to win four more CHA championships (2008, 2010, 2011, 2012) before moving to ECAC Hockey in 2012-13.

NCAA Women’s Hockey

NCAA Women’s Hockey is the sport of ice hockey for women at the collegiate level in the United States and Canada. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is the main governing body for women’s ice hockey at the collegiate level in the United States while USCHO.com is the main governing body for collegiate Ice hockey in Canada.

Women’s Hockey in general

The Rochester Institute of Technology women’s Ice Hockey team is a NCAA Division I college Ice Hockey program that represents the Rochester Institute of Technology. The Tigers are a member of college hockey America. They play at the Division I level and compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

RIT has been a member of college hockey America since the conference’s formation in 1999. The Tigers have won two conference championships in 2007 and 2012. RIT has also competed in five NCAA Division I Women’s ice hockey Tournaments, most recently in 2016. The Tigers have advanced to the quarterfinal round twice, in 2007 and 2012.
