How the SEC will stack up against other conferences

The SEC is widely considered to be the best Basketball Conference in the country. With powerhouse programs like Kentucky, Florida, and LSU, it’s easy to see why.

But how will the SEC stack up against other conferences this season? We break it down for you below.

Conference play in the SEC is always tough, and this season will be no different. Kentucky is once again the favorite to win the conference, but Florida and LSU will give them a run for their money. Tennessee and Auburn are also Teams to Watch out for.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State are rebuilding this season, but they could still make some noise in the conference tournament Arkansas and Alabama are also likely to struggle this season.

In the end, we think Kentucky will come out on top and represent the SEC in the NCAA tournament But it’s going to be a close race all season long

Who are the top contenders for the SEC title

Although the Eastern Conference has been dominating college basketball for the past few years, there are a few teams that stand out as contenders for the title this season. The Kentucky Wildcats are always a force to be reckoned with, and they have the talent and experience to make a run at the title again this year. The Florida Gators are another team to watch as they have a deep and talented roster that could make some noise in the SEC this season. The Auburn Tigers are also a team to keep an eye on, as they have surprise potential and could make a run at the SEC title if everything breaks their way.

How the SEC’s top teams will fare in the NCAA tournament

The Eastern Conference is widely considered to be the best basketball conference in the country. And it’s no wonder why: the SEC has produced some of the best teams in recent memory, including last year’s National Champion the University of Kentucky

This year, the SEC looks to be just as strong as ever. Here are our predictions for how the conference’s top teams will fare in the NCAA tournament

Kentucky: The Wildcats are once again a favorite to win it all. They have a talented roster and a Great Coach in John Calipari We think they’ll make a deep run in the tournament and potentially even win it all for the second year in a row.

Florida: The Gators are another team that has a chance to make a deep run in the tournament. They have a lot of experience and are well-coached by Billy Donovan We think they’ll make it to at least the Elite Eight.

Arkansas: The Razorbacks are another team that could make some noise in the tournament. They have a lot of talent and are coached by Mike Anderson who knows how to win in March. We think they’ll make it to at least the Sweet Sixteen

The dark horses of the SEC

The SEC is always one of the most competitive conferences in College Basketball and this season is shaping up to be no different. While Kentucky and Florida are always the teams to beat, there are a few dark horses that could make some noise in the conference this year. Here are our SEC Basketball predictions for the upcoming season

Mississippi State: The Bulldogs have a secret weapon in guard Quinndary Weatherspoon, who is one of the best players in the conference. If Mississippi State can get some production from their other players, they could be a tough out for anyone in the SEC.

Arkansas: The Razorbacks have a lot of experience returning from last year’s team, and they also have a talented freshman class. Arkansas could be a sleeper team in the SEC this year.

Texas A&M: The Aggies have one of the best players in the country in guard Tyler Davis and they also have a strong supporting cast. If Texas A&M can put it all together, they could be a force to be reckoned with in the SEC this season.

The SEC’s most improved teams

With the College Basketball season right around the corner, it’s time to start looking at who the SEC’s most improved teams will be. After a down year in which no team made it to the NCAA tournament there are a few squads that look poised to make some noise in the conference this season. Here are our predictions for the SEC’s most improved teams:

1. Kentucky Wildcats
After a disappointing 2018-19 campaign, John Calipari’s squad looks loaded and ready to make a run at an SEC title. Led by potential lottery picks in PG Ashton Hagans and PF Nick Richards, the Wildcats have the talent and experience to make a deep run in March.

2. Tennessee Volunteers
Rick Barnes has quietly built one of the most consistent programs in the country, and the Vols look like they could be a force to be reckoned with in 2019-20. Senior PG Lamonte’ Turner is one of the best players in the SEC, and he’ll have plenty of help from fellow seniors Jordan Bowden and Admiral Schofield.

3. LSU Tigers
Will Wade has put together an impressive recruiting class that includes five-star recruits Trendon Watford and James Wiseman With those two joining an already talented core that includes Javonte Smart and Skylar Mays, LSU looks like they could be a force to be reckoned with in the SEC this season.

The SEC’s biggest disappointments

The SEC is loaded with talent this season, but there are still a few team that are bound to disappoint. Here are our predictions for the three biggest letdowns in the SEC this season:

1. Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss was one of the most talented teams in the nation last season, but they failed to live up to expectations. This season, they’ll be without star guard Marshall Henderson, and they’ll have a target on their back as one of the preseason favourites in the SEC. They’ll still be a good team, but don’t be surprised if they fall short of their lofty expectations.

2. Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee is another team that is loaded with talent, but they have a lot of question marks. They’re young and inexperienced, and they don’t have a true go-to scorer. There’s a lot of pressure on Head Coach Cuonzo Martin to deliver results this season, and we think he’ll come up just short.

3. LSU Tigers
LSU has a new head coach in Johnny Jones, and he inherits a team that lacks experience and depth. The Tigers will be relying heavily on freshman Jordan Mickey to provide an inside presence, but he’s still raw and may not be ready to handle the rigors of SEC play. LSU could surprise some people, but we think they’re headed for a disappointing season.

The SEC’s top players

Every year, the SEC produces some of the best players in college basketball This season is no different, as the conference is loaded with top talent. Here are our predictions for the SEC’s Top Players this season:

1. Joel Embiid C, Kentucky
2. Julius Randle PF, Kentucky
3. Jabari Parker, SF, Duke
4. Aaron Gordon PF, Arizona
5. Andrew Wiggins SF, Kansas

The SEC’s top coaches

The SEC is home to some of the best Basketball Coaches in the country. Here are our predictions for the top coaches in the SEC for the upcoming season

1. John Calipari Kentucky
2. Billy Donovan, Florida
3. Bruce Pearl Auburn
4. Rick Stansbury, Mississippi State
5. Anthony Grant Alabama

Our final thoughts on the SEC Basketball season

Now that the conference season is over and the SEC tournament is about to begin, we wanted to give our final thoughts on the SEC basketball season We’ll start with a brief recap of the regular season before diving into our predictions for the tournament and the upcoming NCAA Tournament

The SEC had a bit of a down year overall, but there were still some bright spots. Tennessee was the clear class of the conference, winning both the Regular Season and conference tournament titles. Auburn also had a strong season, winning the regular season outright before losing to Tennessee in the Conference Tournament finals.

Missouri and Kentucky both had disappointing seasons, but they both have talented young teams that should be better next year. Florida also underachieved this year, but they have a chance to make some noise in the NCAA Tournament if they can get hot at the right time.

Now, on to our predictions. We think Tennessee will win the SEC Tournament with Auburn coming in second. We also think Kentucky and Missouri will make it to the semifinals, but we ultimately see Tennessee and Auburn meeting in the finals with Tennessee coming out on top once again.

As for the NCAA tournament we think Tennessee has a good chance to make a run to at least the Sweet Sixteen. Auburn is also a team that could do some damage in March Madness but we ultimately see them falling short of their goal of making it to Atlanta for the Final Four.
