The St Ambrose baseball team is one of the most dominant teams in Division III college baseball They have won 5 conference championships in the past 6 years and have been to the NCAA Division III World Series 3 times in that span.
The team is led by Head Coach Tony Meola, who has been with the team for 10 years. Meola has a career record of 532-206-3 and has led the team to 9 30+ win seasons.
The team is made up of mostly upperclassmen, with only 4 seniors on the roster. The team is anchored by its pitching staff, which includes 2 time All-American Matt Blaser and ace pitcher Alex Wimmer.
The batting order is filled with experienced hitters, including 4 year starter Steve LaPointe and power hitting first baseman John Tomasetti. The team also features speedster Michael Collantes, who steals a lot of bases.

The St. Ambrose Bees have been a force to be reckoned with this season, and they don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
With a record of 27-5, the Bees are currently ranked 4th in the nation in Division II baseball They have won 17 out of their last 18 games, with their only loss in that span coming at the hands of nationally ranked Lindenwood University
The team is led by senior shortstop Connor Kopach, who is batting .380 with 5 home runs and 32 RBIs on the season. He is one of many Bees who have been swinging a hot bat lately; as a team, St. Ambrose is batting .282 with 43 home runs and 230 RBIs.
On the mound, the Bees have been equally impressive. Their team ERA is 3.13, and they have struck out 284 batters while walking just 100. They have also been solid defensively, committing only 47 errors on the season.
With conference play winding down and the postseason on the horizon, the St. Ambrose Bees are a team that you will want to keep an eye on.

The team has made it to the conference tournament three years in a row and are looking to make it four this season. The team is led by their two senior captains, Alec Olsen and Ryan Daugherty. The Ambrose offense is led by a few Key Players Senior first baseman/outfielder Matt Lentz is having a monster season, batting .325/.451/.636 with 5 home runs and 23 RBI. He is flanked by sophomore DH/outfielder Joe Domanico, who is hitting .333/.367/.476 with 3 Home Runs and 19 RBI. The heart of the order is completed by junior catcher Anthony Gomez, who is hitting .302/.413/.500 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI.
On the mound, junior right-hander Jake Johansen has been the ace of the staff, going 6-1 with a 2.48 ERA in 64 innings pitched He has struck out 67 batters while walking only 20. Senior lefty Tyler Shover has also been very good, going 4-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 54 innings pitched. He has struck out 54 batters while walking only 19.
The St. Ambrose Baseball team has been a very fun team to watch this season and they look like they could be a dangerous squad in the postseason.

A Team That Is Worth Following
The St. Ambrose Bees are a college baseball team located in Davenport, Iowa. The team is a member of the Midwest Conference and plays its home games at Modern Woodmen Park, which is also home to the Quad Cities River Bandits Minor League Baseball team.
The Bees have won four conference championships in their history, most recently in 2019. They have also made three appearances in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament most recently in 2019.
The team is coached by Steve Jaski, who has been at the helm since the start of the 2016 season. Under Jaski’s leadership, the Bees have won two conference championships and made two appearances in the NCAA tournament
The Bees are led by a core group of talented seniors who have been with the team for four years. These seniors include first baseman/outfielder Connor Burns, second baseman Anthony DiMola, shortstop T.J. Huntzinger, third baseman Jake Whatley, and pitchers Will Anderson and Jack Landwehr.
This group of seniors has helped lead the Bees to two of their best seasons in recent memory. In 2018, the team finished with a 29-15 overall record and won the Midwest conference championship In 2019, they finished 33-11 overall and made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2011.
The 2020 season was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but not before the Bees got off to a hot start. They won their first eight games of the season before play was suspended. With most of their key players returning for another season, there is no reason to believe that they can’t pick up right where they left off and make another run at a Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA tournament
