Stal’s Basketball Journey begins
Stal Ostrow’s basketball journey began when he was just a child. His father, Andrew, played basketball at the Division I level and instilled a love of the game in his son. Stal began playing competitively in middle school and quickly developed into one of the Top Players in his age group. He continued to hone his skills throughout High School and was recruited to play Division I Basketball at the University of Florida
Stal excelled during his time with the Gators, starting all four years and helping lead the team to two NCAA tournament appearances. He graduated with a degree in sports management and went on to play professionally overseas. After several years overseas, Stal returned to the United States and now Coaches Basketball at the high school level.
Stal’s early basketball career
Ostrow, a native of Warsaw, Poland, began playing basketball at the age of 12. He quickly rose through the ranks of the youth basketball scene in Warsaw, eventually earning a spot on the city’s top youth team. From there, Ostrow’s career took off. He won multiple youth championships with his team and was even named MVP of the youth league in Warsaw.
Stal’s college basketball career
Stal Ostrow played four years of College Basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he was a three-time All-American. He is the school’s All-time leading scorer and rebounder, and was named the National Player of the Year in his senior season.
Ostrow was not recruited by any Division I schools, but he decided to walk on to the Wisconsin-Whitewater team. He earned a scholarship after his first year, and went on to have an outstanding career. He helped lead the team to four straight Division III National Championships and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament in his senior year.
After college, Ostrow played professionally in Europe for several years. He is now back in the United States where he is working as a basketball coach and trainer.
Stal’s Professional Basketball career
Stal Ostrow had a successful professional basketball career playing for teams all over the world. He started his career playing for the Israeli team Hapoel Galil Elyon, before moving to Greece to play for Panionios B.C.
Ostrow then had a brief stint in Turkey, before returning to Greece to play for Apollon Patras B.C. He then played in Cyprus for AEL Limassol B.C., before moving back to Israel to play for Maccabi Rishon LeZion B.C..
After a few years in Israel, Ostrow decided to move to the United States and play in the NBA D-League He was drafted by the Canton Charge in 2015, and played for them for two seasons.
In 2017, Ostrow decided to retire from professional basketball and return to his home country of Poland. He currently runs a Basketball Camp for children in Warsaw, and is also a coach for a local team
Stal’s return to basketball
Stal Ostrow is returning to basketball after a six-year absence. During that time, he played football and rugby, but he says basketball is his true passion.
Ostrow, who is 6-foot-8 and played center in high school will be a walk-on at Division III Claremont McKenna in California. He’s 27 years old and will be one of the oldest players in the league.
Ostrow says he’s not sure how he’ll do, but he’s excited to give basketball another try.
Stal’s current basketball career
Stal Ostrow is a professional basketball player who is currently signed to a two-way contract with the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League and the Toronto Raptors of the NBA. He played College Basketball for the Rhode Island Rams.
Ostrow was born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up playing organized basketball in the city. He played high school basketball for Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute. In his senior year, he averaged 17.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game leading his team to the 2016 OFSAA AAAA bronze medal game.
Ostrow played collegiately for the Rhode Island Rams of the Atlantic 10 Conference. In his junior year, he averaged 7.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while shooting 39 percent from three-point range As a senior, Ostrow averaged 11.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game while shooting 41 percent from three-point range. He helped lead Rhode Island to an NCAA Tournament berth as a senior.
Stal’s Basketball Journey so far
Stal Ostrow is a Ung Basketball player with a big future. The six-foot-seven-inch Power Forward from Poland has already had an eventful basketball journey, having played for two professional teams in his native country before moving to the United States to play college basketball
Ostrow’s talent was evident from a young age. He captained his Polish youth national team to a gold medal at the Under-16 European Championship in 2016. He also played for the Polish men’s National Team at the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in 2017.
Ostrow decided to continue his development in the United States and he enrolled at Putnam Science Academy a prep school in Connecticut. He played one season there before committing to play college basketball at Stony Brook University, a Division I school in New York.
Ostrow is now entering his sophomore year of college and is looking to help Stony Brook make noise in the America East Conference He has already made an impact on the court, averaging 10 points and 5 rebounds per game as a freshman.
Off the court, Ostrow is studying business management and is hoping to one day start his own business. He is also an active member of Stony Brook’s Polish community.

Stal Ostrow’s Incredible Basketball Journey has come to an end. After years of dominating the competition in his home country of Belarus, Stal has finally made the decision to move to the United States and continue his career at the collegiate level.

Ostrow says that the biggest advice he can give to others is to “just go for it.” He says that he was very close to not even trying out for basketball in college, and he’s glad that he did.
