Team Israel Baseball Releases Schedule for upcoming season

Team Israel Baseball has released its schedule for the upcoming season which includes games against teams from Europe, Asia, and North America

The team will begin its season with a series of exhibition games against European teams in early March, followed by the first official tournament of the season, the Asia Series, in Tokyo, Japan.

After the Asia Series, Team Israel will return to Europe to compete in the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in September. If they win their qualifying group, they will advance to the World Baseball Classic tournament itself in March 2017.

Team Israel Baseball announces new signings for upcoming season

Team Israel Baseball announced today the signing of two more players, OF/IF Ryan Lavarnway and utility player Ty Kelly, to the team that will compete in the September 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Brooklyn.

Lavarnway, who played for Team Israel in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifier, is a native of California who has played parts of six seasons in the Major Leagues with the Boston Red Sox Chicago Cubs Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays organizations. The 30-year-old right-handed hitter has also had stints in AAA with Pawtucket, Norfolk, Buffalo, and Lehigh Valley

Kelly, 27, a switch-hitter who can play all over the diamond, made his Major League debut this season with the New York Mets after playing parts of six seasons in the minors with Baltimore, Seattle, San Francisco and Philadelphia organizations. The California native was drafted by the Orioles in the 16th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of UC Berkeley.

Team Israel Baseball prepares for World Baseball Classic

Team Israel Baseball has announced their schedule for the 2017 World Baseball Classic The team will play in the first round in Seoul, Korea from March 6-12. They will then travel to Tokyo, Japan to play in the second round from March 14-19. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, which will be held in Los Angeles from March 20-22. The finals will be held in San Diego on March 23.

Team Israel Baseball looks to defend World Baseball Classic title

Team Israel Baseball released its exhibition schedule on Monday, as the team prepares to defend its World Baseball Classic title. Team Israel will play a total of six exhibition games against Major League Baseball teams in spring training including games against the Boston Red Sox Minnesota Twins and San Diego Padres

The team will also play two exhibition games against minor league teams, the Las Vegas Aviators and the Surprise Saguaros. Team Israel’s first game will be against the Red Sox on February 23rd, and their last game will be against the Padres on March 5th.

Team Israel’s roster for the World Baseball Classic has not been announced yet, but it is expected to include several Major League Baseball players who have Israeli heritage, such as Kevin Pillar of the Toronto Blue Jays and Ian Kinsler of the San Diego Padres
