Team Wyoming Hockey is a college Ice Hockey team that represents the University of Wyoming The team is a member of the Mountain West Conference and plays its home games at the UniWyo Sports Complex The team was founded in 1977 and has been one of the most successful programs in collegiate hockey, winning the conference championship six times and making nine NCAA tournament appearances.

Bob Johnson was a star center for the University of Wyoming from 1949 to 1951. He went on to play for the Chicago Blackhawks and was named to the NHL All-Star team in 1955.

Olympian Joe Boninsegna played for the Cheyenne Stampede from 1971 to 1973. He represented the United States in the 1976 Winter Olympics where he scored the game-winning goal against Czechoslovakia.

Wyoming native Craig Janney was a standout center for Boston College from 1984 to 1988. He played in the NHL for 11 seasons, including stints with the Boston Bruins St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks He was named to the NHL All-Star team in 1991.
