Who’s Who on the 2019 Texas A&M Baseball Roster

The 2019 Texas A&M Baseball Team is made up of some talented and experienced players. Here’s a look at who’s who on the roster:

Pitchers:
-Kodie Grasso: A junior from Richmond, Virginia, Grasso is a right-handed pitcher who appeared in 23 games last season, starting seven. He had a 4-2 record with a 4.50 ERA.
-John Doxakis: A left-handed pitcher from Lake Jackson, Texas, Doxakis appeared in 33 games last season, starting 10. He had a 5-4 record with a 4.15 ERA.
– Mitchell Kilkenny: A right-handed pitcher from Flower Mound Texas, Kilkenny appeared in 14 games last season, all in relief. He had a 1-0 record with a 6.75 ERA.

Catchers:
-Michael Helman: A senior from Houston, Helman is the indisputable leader of the team. He appeared in 54 games last season, starting 53. He batted .273 with four home runs and 32 RBIs.
-Cole Bedford: A junior from Brenham, Texas, Bedford appeared in 27 games last season, starting 23. He batted .257 with one home run and 12 RBIs.

The Texas A&M baseball team is set to embark on another season of SEC play, and there are sure to be plenty of new faces on the roster. Here’s a look at the newcomers who will be donning the Aggie uniform this year.

Infielders

out of High School in 2016, Davis has been a key player for the Aggies over the last two seasons. He was recently named a preseason All-American by perfect game and is expected to be a big part of the A&M lineup this season.

Pitchers

Another key player to watch on the mound will be freshman Jayden Graff. The highly touted recruit from California was ranked as the No. 32 prospect in the country by perfect game coming out of high school

The Veterans on the 2019 Texas A&M Baseball Roster

With the 2019 baseball season quickly approaching, it’s time to get to know the Aggie baseball team

Head coach Rob Childress returns for his 13th season at the helm of the Aggies. He’s led Texas A&M to six NCAA tournament appearances, four conference championships and a trip to the College World Series in 2011. In 2018, the Aggies went 34-26 overall and 13-17 in SEC play. They failed to make the postseason for the first time since 2014.

Texas A&M will look to rebound in 2019 with a mix of experienced veterans and talented newcomers. Here’s a look at some of the Key Players on this year’s roster:

The Veterans:
•OF Logan Foster: Foster is a senior from Rosenberg, Texas. He was an All-SEC selection as a sophomore in 2017 when he hit .308 with 10 home runs and 46 RBI. He struggled at the plate last season, batting just .222 with six homers and 27 RBI. The Aggies will need him to return to form if they hope to contend in the SEC this season.
•RHP Kyle Martin Martin is a senior from Brenham, Texas. He’s been a key member of the Aggie bullpen over the past three seasons. In 2018, he appeared in 32 games and posted a 3-2 record with two saves and a 4.58 ERA.
•INF Austin Holtzapple: Holtzapple is a senior from Richmond, Texas. He’s appeared in 79 games over his first three seasons with Texas A&M, mostly as a backup infielder and pinch hitter. He hit .273 with one home run and seven RBI last season.
•LHP John Doxakis: Doxakis is a junior from Lake Jackson, Texas. He was named All-SEC Freshman team after going 5-2 with a 3.48 ERA in 16 appearances (eight starts) as a freshman in 2017. Last season he made 15 starts and compiled a 6-4 record with a 4..72 ERA

Coach Rob Childress and the Texas A&M Baseball Team have announced their 2019 roster. The roster is loaded with talent, as the Aggies return 10 Position players and six pitchers from last year’s squad. Infielders Braden Shewmake and Logan Foster, as well as outfielder Zach DeLoach, headline a group of returnees that figures to make the Aggies a force to be reckoned with in 2019. The Pitchers of the 2019 Texas A&M Baseball Roster

The pitchers of the 2019 Texas A&M Baseball roster include:
-John Doxakis: Left-Handed Pitcher, Junior
– Chandler Jozwiak: Left-Handed Pitcher, Sophomore
– Asa Lacy Left-Handed Pitcher, Freshman
– Chris Weber: Right-Handed Pitcher, Junior

The Infielders of the 2019 Texas A&M Baseball Roster

The 2019 Texas A&M Baseball team will have a strong infield, led by returning senior All-American Joel Davis. The Aggies also return three other starters in shortstop Austin Bvpys, third baseman George Janca, and second baseman Braden Shewmake.

Bpys led the team in batting average last season with a .346 mark, while Shewmake was second on the team with a .321 average. Janca provides a power threat in the middle of the lineup, as he clubbed 10 home runs last season.

The infield will also feature several new faces, as junior college transfer Josh Jung and freshmen Zach DeLoach, Mikey Hoehner, and Will Frizzell all figure to see time at various positions around the infield.

The Outfielders of the 2019 Texas A&M Baseball Roster

Most college baseball programs have a few upperclassmen outfielders that lead the way for the younger guys, but the Texas A&M Aggies will be relatively young in the outfield in 2019.

The left field position will be manned by sophomore Bryce Blaum most of the time. The speedy Blaum was a backup last season but should see increased playing time this year. He’ll likely hit in the bottom half of the lineup as well. Joining him in the outfield will be freshman Logan Sartori, who will see time in all three outfield spots. Sartori is a bit raw but has a lot of potential and should be an important piece of the puzzle for years to come.

In center field, junior Zach DeLoach will look to build off a strong 2018 campaign in which he was named second-team All-SEC. DeLoach has good speed and is solid defensively. He’ll likely hit near the top of the order and be one of the Aggies’ main run producers. Freshman Authentic Anderson will also see time in center field. Anderson is an elite athlete with good speed and a strong arm. He’s still raw at the plate but has a lot of potential.

Right field will be manned by junior reefer Braden Shewmake most of the time. Shewmake is one of the best hitters on the team and should hit near the top of the order. He’s also a very good defender with a strong arm. Joining him in right field will be freshman Chris Andritsos, who can also play first base and third base. Andritsos was a highly touted recruit who has a lot of power potential.
