Texas Tech Baseball is a team that competes in the Big 12 Conference. The team is coached by Tim Tadlock and plays its home games at Rip Griffin Park. The team finished the 2019 season with a record of 42-16, 15-9 in conference play and won the conference tournament The team has made four NCAA Tournament appearances, most recently in 2019.

The Conference

Texas Tech Baseball will look to rebound in 2019 after a disappointing end to the 2018 season. The Red Raiders went 22-28 overall and just 7-16 in Big 12 play. The Roster

The Red Raiders have 27 roster spots this season and have filled 23 of them with scholarship athletes and walk-ons. Twenty-one of those athletes are on campus, while the other two – pitchers John McMillon and John Henry Gonzales – are redshirts that will finish up their academic work this summer before joining the team.

The Coaches

In his fourth season as the Head Coach of the Texas Tech baseball team Tim Tadlock has solidified his place among the nation’s elite coaches. Under his guidance, the Red Raiders have won three straight Big 12 regular season titles and made three consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament

Tadlock is a two-time winner of the Big 12 Coach of the Year Award and was named the National Coach of the Year in 2016 by Baseball America He has a career record of 230-115 at Texas Tech and his .667 winning percentage is the best in school history.

Texas Tech’s success under Tadlock has not gone unnoticed by other schools. In the last four years, Tadlock has had four assistant coaches leave to take head coaching jobs at other schools. That includes Trey Hillman, who left after the 2016 season to become the manager of the Hanshin Tigers in Japan.

Despite all of the turnover on his Coaching Staff Tadlock has been able to keep the Red Raiders at the top of the Big 12. They are currently ranked No. 6 in the nation and are considered one of the favorites to make a run at the College World Series

The Fans

Texas Tech Baseball has some of the most passionate and loyal fans in the country. The fans are truly a part of the team and make themselves heard at every game. They are also some of the most knowledgeable baseball fans around, and are always eager to discuss the ins and outs of the game with anyone who will listen.

The Tradition

Texas Tech Baseball has a long and storied tradition. The Red Raiders have been a force to be reckoned with in the Big 12 for many years, and they show no signs of slowing down. With a strong team and a passionate fan base, Texas Tech is always a threat to make a run in the conference tournament and NCAA tournament

The Venue

Texas Tech’s home venue, Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park, has been in use since the program’s inaugural 1997 season. The stadium underwent a $6 million expansion in 2011 that added roughly 2,000 additional seats, increasing capacity to 8,072. The project also entailed the addition of eight suites, a new press box area and an expanded concession area.

Oklahoma: The Sooners had a down year in 2019, finishing 27-32 and missing the NCAA Tournament They are losing some key players, but they have a lot of young talent that should be able to step up in 2020.

Oklahoma State: The Cowboys had an up and down 2019 season, finishing 34-26 and making it to the NCAA Tournament They are losing some key players, but they have a lot of young talent that should be able to step up in 2020.

TCU: The Horned Frogs had a solid 2019 season, finishing 39-19 and making it to the NCAA tournament They are losing some key players, but they have a lot of young talent that should be able to step up in 2020.
