Trevecca Nazarene baseball has a long and proud tradition of winning. That tradition starts with our Coaching Staff and extends to every player on the roster. We work hard to develop our skills and play the game the right way. Our goal is to win championships and to do it with class and dignity.
Introduction
Trevecca Nazarene University is a private Christian University in Nashville, Tennessee. The university is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene. Founded in 1901 as a women’s college, Trevecca now serves a coeducational student body of over 4,000 students.
Trevecca’s baseball team has a rich tradition of success, winning the NAIA World Series in 1987 and finishing as runners-up in both 2009 and 2013. The team has also won eight NAIA Regional Championships and made seventeen appearances in the NAIA World Series In addition to their on-field success, the team has produced numerous Major League Baseball players, including Garry Templeton, Dan Plesac, and current Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher Brandon McCarthy.

The Trevecca Nazarene University Trojan Baseball Team has been a staple of the fine institution since its establishment in 1901. The Trojans have long set the standard for excellence on and off the field, representing Trevecca with distinction. With a rich history full of championship seasons and talented student-athletes, Trojans baseball is a tradition that any student, faculty member, or fan can be proud of.
The History
Trevecca Nazarene baseball has a long and storied history dating back to the early days of the school. The team has seen its fair share of ups and downs over the years, but through it all, they have maintained a winning tradition that is the envy of many other programs.
Some of the most successful teams in school history have come in recent years with the squad making back-to-back trips to the NAIA World Series in 2015 and 2016. That team was anchored by a strong pitching staff, which included future Major League Baseball player Zac Curtis.
The team has also produced a number of All-Americans and Academic All-Americans over the years, cementing its place as one of the Premier Baseball programs in NCAA Division II.

Trevecca Nazarene University’s baseball team has a passionate and dedicated fan base. The fans are some of the most loyal and supportive in all of college baseball They travel well to away games and create a great atmosphere at home games The players and coaches appreciate the support of the fans and are proud to represent them on the field.
The Rivalries
The Trevecca Nazarene Trojans baseball team competes in the NCAA Division II and is a charter member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference The Trojans have won six conference championships and have been to the NCAA Regional Tournament fifteen times. The team has had thirty-five All-Americans, five Academic All-Americans, and fifty-six Major League Baseball draft picks
The Championships
Trevecca Nazarene University has a long tradition of Inning Baseball The team has won 12 conference championships and made 11 appearances in the NAIA World Series In addition, the team has produced 41 All-Americans and 17 Major League baseball players
The Future
The future of Trevecca Nazarene baseball looks bright. The team has a winning tradition and is always looking to improve. The players are hardworking and dedicated to their craft. They have a strong work ethic and are always looking to get better. The coaching staff is also excellent, and they are always looking to help the team improve.
The Stadium
Trevecca Nazarene University’s Baseball Team has a long and proud tradition of excellence. The team plays its home games at Pine Field, a beautifully maintained stadium that is located on the Trevecca campus. Pine Field is one of the finest collegiate baseball stadiums in the country, and it is a Great Place to watch a game. The stadium has a capacity of 3,500 fans, and it features bleacher seating, a press box, and a concessions stand.
The Coaches
The Coaches of Trevecca Nazarene Baseball uphold a winning tradition and develop their players to reach their potential both on and off the field.
Head baseball coach Curt Gibson enters his sixth season leading the program in 2020.During his tenure the team has won two conference championships and made three trips to the NAIA World Series His teams have also been recognized for their success in the classroom, receiving the NAIA Champions of Character Silver award three times.
Assistant coach Tyler Thomas is in his fifth season with the team. He works with hitters and infielders. In 2019, he was named the ABCA/Diamond Sports Assistant Coach of the Year for Region VII. Prior to coming to Trevecca, coach Thomas served as an assistant at his alma mater, Southern Nazarene University
Rounding out the Coaching Staff is first-year assistant coach Brandon Harper. He will work with pitchers and catchers. Harper comes to Trevecca after spending last season as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Concordia University Texas.
The Legacy
Trevecca Nazarene University’s Baseball team has a rich tradition of winning. The team has captured 12 conference championships and made four trips to the NAIA World Series Under Head Coach Frank Turner, the team has compiled an impressive 624-323-1 record.
The team’s success is due in large part to the play of its alumni. More than 60 Trevecca baseball players have gone on to play professional baseball including major league baseball All-Stars Darryl Strawberry and Steve Howe
Trevecca’s baseball program has produced not only Great players but also great people. The team’s alumni include doctors, lawyers, teachers, coaches, and business leaders. They are a testimony to the power of athletics to change lives for the better.
