Trinidad State Baseball: A Tradition of Excellence

Trinidad State baseball has a long tradition of excellence, dating back to its inception in 1947. The program has produced numerous Major League Baseball players and has been a powerhouse at the Division II level, winning eight National Championships Follow along as we continue to build on this tradition and strive for even more success in the years to come.

The History of Trinidad State Baseball

Baseball has been a part of Trinidad State junior college since its inception in 1925. The program has a rich history of success, including winning the NJCAA World Series in 1966 and having more than 40 alumni go on to play professional baseball Today, the program is still going strong, with a talented roster of student-athletes that are committed to carrying on the tradition of excellence.

The Tradition of Excellence

Since it’s founding in 1925, Trinidad State has been synonymous with Inning Baseball The team has won 27 conference championships and appeared in 14 NJCAA World Series With over 50 all-americans and 6 major leaguers, the program has a rich tradition of excellence.

The Players

The story of Trinidad State Baseball is one of excellence, determination, and hard work From the humble beginnings of a small Community College team to one of the most successful programs in all of Division II baseball Trinidad State has a rich history and tradition that is celebrated by its players, coaches, and fans.

Over the years, Trinidad State has produced some of the best baseball players in the country. In 2017 alone, seven Trinidad State alumni were drafted or signed by Major League Baseball teams. These seven players are just a small part of the long list of Trinidad State alumni who have gone on to play Professional Baseball

The success of Trinidad State Baseball is due in large part to the quality of its players. Every year, the team is made up of some of the best collegiate baseball players in the country. Many of these players come from small towns and high schools that do not have the same level of resources and support that larger schools have. Despite this disadvantage, these players have overcome obstacles and worked hard to develop their skills to a point where they can compete at the highest level

Trinidad State baseball is proud to have such a rich history and tradition of excellence. The team’s success would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of its players. These players represent everything that is good about Collegiate Baseball and they are a source of pride for Trinidad State and its fans.

The Coaches

The Trinidad State baseball program has been led by some of the most successful coaches in the history of the sport. With a combined eleven National Championships, these coaches have put Trinidad State baseball on the map as one of the premier programs in the country.

Head Coach Tom Shaw is entering his sixth season at the helm of the program and has already led the team to two National Championships. Prior to his arrival at Trinidad State, Coach Shaw spent twelve seasons as the Head Coach at Northeastern Junior College where he won nine National Championships.

Assistant Coach Steve Johnson is in his fourth season with Trinidad State and has been a key contributor to the team’s success. A former player and Assistant Coach at Northeastern Junior College Coach Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program.

Together, these coaches have formed a dynamic duo that has led Trinidad State to new heights. With their combined expertise and passion for the game, there is no doubt that they will continue to lead the team to success in the years to come.

The Fans

When it comes to college baseball Trinidad State is known for having some of the most passionate and dedicated fans in the country. Every year, hundreds of people make the trip to TSJ to watch the Trojans take on their opponents. And whether it’s a Home game or an away game, you can always count on the Trinidad State faithful to be there cheering on their team.

So what makes Trinidad State Baseball so special? For one, it’s the history and tradition of excellence that the program has built over the years. Since its inception in 1957, TSJ has won 27 conference championships and made 16 appearances in the NCAA Division II World Series That kind of success breeds a loyal and passionate fan base, which is something that Trinidad State has definitely developed over the years.

The fans are close to the action and they create an electric and vibrant environment that is truly unlike any other. When you combine that with the beautiful setting of TSJ, it’s easy to see why so many people enjoy coming out to watch the Trojans play.

The Rivalries

Trinidad State baseball has a long tradition of excellence, with 4 NJCAA World Series appearances and over 30 conference titles. The program has produced numerous Major League Baseball players, including pitchers Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling Located in southern Colorado, the school’s baseball team competes in the Scenic West Athletic Conference against rivals like Salt Lake Community College and Yavapai College

The Championships

Since the team’s inception in 1947, Trinidad State has won 10 NJCAA Division I World Series Championships. The most recent titles came in 2009 and 2011. The team has also won 30 Regional Championships and 30 district championships.

As Trinidad State looks to the future, we will continue to build on our tradition of excellence in baseball. With our new head coach we are committed to attracting talented players from all over the country and competing at the highest level. We are committed to developing our players both on and off the field, and we are committed to winning. The program is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
