The History of Trinity High School Baseball

Baseball has been a part of Trinity high school since the school’s founding in 1892. The team was initially known as the “Tornados”, but the name was changed to the “rebels” in 1912. Trinity high school has a long and rich tradition of excellence in baseball, winning numerous state and conference championships

Some of the most famous alumni to come out of Trinity high school include Major League Baseball players Lou Brock Dizzy Dean and Bob Gibson Trinity high school has also produced several Major League Baseball managers, including Whitey Herzog and Tony La Russa.

In Trinity High School’s baseball program we pride ourselves on our tradition of excellence. For over 50 years, our team has been a force to be reckoned with on the diamond, winning multiple State Championships and producing some of the best players in the country.

Our success is a result of the hard work and dedication of our players, coaches, and parents. We are committed to providing our young men with the best possible experience and developing them into outstanding baseball players and citizens.

The Coaching Staff

The Coaching Staff of Trinity High School’s baseball team is comprised of some of the most experienced and successful coaches in the area. With over 100 years of combined experience, these coaches have helped mold Trinity’s Baseball Program into one of the most respected and well-known programs in the nation.

Head coach Bob Hurley Sr. has been with the program for over 30 years and has amassed an impressive record of 1,200 wins and just over 400 losses. Under his leadership, Trinity has won 13 state championships and has been ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation by USA Today

Assistant coach Matt Lambert has been with the program for 10 years and has helped Coach Hurley develop one of the most successful pitching staffs in the country. In addition to his coaching duties, Lambert also serves as Trinity’s head recruiter, working tirelessly to bring the best high school baseball players to Louisville.

Rounding out the coaching staff is longtime Assistant Coach Mark O’Donnell, who joined Trinity High School in 2001. Coach O’Donnell has been a part of two state championship teams at Trinity and is widely respected for his knowledge of the game and ability to develop young players

The Team

The Trinity high school Baseball Team has a long tradition of excellence, dating back to its founding in the late 19th century. The team has won numerous championships over the years, including five state titles and two National Championships Trinity is also one of the most successful high school baseball programs in the country, with an impressive record of wins and losses.

The Facilities

Trinity High School has a long tradition of excellence in baseball. The school has state-of-the-art facilities that include a computerized bullpen, two batting cages, and a weight room. The weight room is open to all students and is supervised by a certified Athletic Trainer The computerized bullpen allows pitchers to work on their pitching mechanics year-round. The batting cages are available for use by all students during lunch and after school.
