The University of Georgia baseball team is composed of 27 players, all of whom have been hand-selected to compete at the highest level This team is dedicated to giving it their all on the field and working together to achieve greatness. Below, you will find a brief introduction to each player on the roster. Get to know your Uga baseball team!
Pitching Staff
Aaron Schunk: A junior from Athens, GA, Aaron is a right-handed pitcher and infielder who throws with both his right and left hand. He was named SEC Freshman of the Year in 2017 and was a key player on the National Championship team in 2018.
Emerson Hancock: A sophomore from Cairo, GA, Emerson is a right-handed pitcher who stands 6’4” tall. He was named SEC Pitcher of the Year in 2018 and was a key player on the National Championship team.
Cole Wilcox: A freshman from Ringgold, GA, Cole is a right-handed pitcher who stands 6’5” tall. He was named Gatorade Player of the Year in 2018 and was a key player on the National Championship team.
Catchers
Michael Peacock: A senior from Atlanta, GA, Michael is a catcher who also plays infield and outfield. He is a versatile player who has been with the team for four years.
Luke Wagner: A sophomore from Duluth, GA, Luke is a catcher who also plays first base. He played in 27 games as a freshman and hit .333 with one home run and 15 RBIs.

Moody had a successful freshman campaign, posting a 3.86 ERA in 32 innings pitched He will look to build on that success this year as he competes for a spot in the starting rotation.
Cole Wilcox
* Freshman
* Right-handed pitcher
* Hometown: Ringgold, GA
Expectations: Will compete for a spot in the starting rotation/bullpen
Wilcox is one of the top pitching prospects in the country. He was ranked as the No. 26 overall prospect by Baseball America and is expected to contend for a spot in the starting rotation or bullpen.

Pitchers:

This Uga baseball season is looking slightly different than seasons past. With Covid-19 changing the way that sports are played, the baseball team has had to change their strategies a bit. Here is a quick run-through of the Uga baseball roster so that you know who to watch out for this season.
The team is made up of 20 players, including 4 outfielders, 6 infielders, 2 catchers, 5 pitchers, and 3 utility players The average weight of the team is 200 pounds and the average height is 6’1″.
One player to keep an eye on this season ispitcher Cole Ayers. Ayers was recently named SEC Pitcher of the Week and Freshman of the Week. He hails from Dacula, Georgia and Throw from the right side. Another player to keep an eye on is first baseman Justin Milone. Milone is from Roswell, Georgia and bats lefty. He was recently named SEC Player of the Week after hitting .450 with 3 home runs in four games against Vanderbilt.

Head Coach Scott Stricklin has led the Bulldogs to five consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, and this year’s team looks to be one of the best yet. Here’s a breakdown of the Uga Baseball Roster including who to watch out for and what to expect from each player.
The Uga Baseball Roster By the Numbers
The Uga Baseball Roster is made up of 28 student-athletes, 27 of which are underclassmen (freshmen or sophomores). The team is led by fifth-year senior pitchers WillBanfield and KevinSmith. Both have been key cogs in the Bulldogs’ pitching staff over the past few years and will look to provide stability in 2019. The team also features six other seniors, fourjuniors, and two sophomores.
The Bulldogs will have a new look in 2019, as they will have 10 new pitchers and 14 new Position players The pitching staff will be young and inexperienced, as only three pitchers on the roster have collegiate experience. The staff will be anchored by junior college transfer Chayce Hubbard, who was named a Juco All-American last year. The bullpen will be led by sophomore Tyler Brown, who appeared in 21 games as a freshman.
The position players are also young, but they do have some experience. Senior Tucker Bradley is the only player on the roster with more than two years of collegiate experience. Bradley will be joined by fellow seniors Michael Curry and Mitchell Webb in the infield. The outfield will feature junior College World Series hero Adam Sasser, sophomore Cam Shepherd, and freshman Jaylen Payne.

Riley King is a junior third baseman from Duluth, Georgia. He is one of the top hitters on the team, and is expected to be a key run-producer this season.
Tucker Maxwell is a senior outfielder from Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is a tremendous athlete and is one of the team’s best defenders. He will be counted on to provide leadership and stability in the outfield this season.
Patrick DeLoach is a senior catcher from Decatur, Georgia. He is a strong defender with a good arm, and he also provides some power at the plate. He will be starting behind the plate for the Bulldogs this season.
Connor Rice is a junior pitcher from Cumming, Georgia. He is one of the team’s top pitchers, and will be counted on to anchor the pitching staff this season. He has Good Stuff and should be able to pitch deep into games for the Bulldogs this year.

Senior Lucas Witt will be the starter behind the plate for the Bulldogs this season. Witt is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and has appeared in 41 games over his career at UGA. He will be joined by freshman Cam Shepherd, who was ranked as the No. 18 catcher in the country by perfect game USA coming out of High School
Infield:
Junior Tucker Bradley will start at first base for the Bulldogs this season. Bradley played in 35 games last year, making 28 starts, and finished second on the team with five home runs At second base, freshman Ben Anderson will get the nod after an impressive fall campaign. Anderson was aPerfect Game/Rawlings third-team All-American coming out of high school and was ranked as the No. 97 overall prospect in the country by Baseball America Shortstop will be manned by junior Connor Tate, who started all 55 games for the Bulldogs last season and led the team with a .987 Fielding percentage Third base is still up in the air, with junior Luke Murray and freshman Mikey Myers competing for the starting job. Murray played in 19 games last year, while Myers was ranked as the No. 29 third baseman in the country by perfect game USA coming out of high school
Outfield:
In left field junior Keegan McGovern will look to build off a strong sophomore campaign that saw him hit .317 with 10 home runs and 51 RBIs en route to being named a Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. In center field, sophomore Jared DeHart returns after starting all 55 games for the Bulldogs as a freshman last year and hitting .264 with two Home Runs and 32 RBIs. Right field is still up for grabs, with senior Ryan Blanton, junior LJ Talley and freshman John Cable competing for playing time Blanton played in 39 games last year, while Talley started 23 games in 2017 before missing all of last season due to injury. Cable was ranked as the No.. 306 overall prospect in the country by baseball America coming out of high school

He is entering his fifth season with the team, and has coached the team to two SEC tournament appearances and one NCAA regional appearance. The associate Head Coach is Ryan Schmidt, who is also entering his fifth season with the team. The pitching coach is Wes Johnson who is in his second season with the team.
