UNC is known for its Tar Heel athletics, and baseball is no different. The team has a long tradition of winning, dating back to the late 1800s. In recent years they have won NCAA Championships in 2006 and 2007. The team wears several different colors of uniforms, depending on the game situation.
The most common colors are white and blue. The white jerseys are typically worn for home games while the blue jerseys are worn for away games. UNC also has a gray jersey that is worn occasionally. This jersey is usually only seen in post-season play or when the team is facing a very tough opponent.
The pants worn by UNC players are also blue, although there have been some slight variations over the years. In general, the pants are a darker shade of blue than the jerseys, but this is not always the case.
Finally, UNC has a few alternate jerseys that are used from time to time. These include a black jersey and a yellow jersey. These jerseys are typically only seen when the team is playing in special tournaments or when they want to show their support for a cause (such as Breast Cancer awareness).

The Various Designs of UNC Baseball Uniforms
The University of North Carolina has a long and proud tradition in college baseball dating back to 1892. The Tar Heels have won five national championships, appeared in eighteen College World Series and produced fifty-seven Major League Baseball players. Given the team’s success on the field, it’s no surprise that UNC has also had some pretty sweet uniforms over the years. Here are just a few of the various designs UNC has sported:
The first known picture of a UNC Baseball Team dates back to 1893, and shows the players wearing all white uniforms with blue trim. The following year, the team switched to blue woolen jerseys with white lettering. In the early 1900s, the powder blue color we now associate with UNC became popular, and the team began incorporating it into their uniforms. The Tar Heels wore powder blue at home and white on the road from 1916-1921.
In 1922, UNC debuted its first full powder blue uniform. This design would become iconic, and would be worn in various iterations for almost a century. Some notable changes over the years included the switch from knicker-style pants to regular pants in 1931, and the addition of player names on the back of jerseys in 1957.
In 2001, UNC unveiled a new home uniform featuring carbon fiber piping on the jerseys and pants. This strange design was short-lived, however, as it was quickly replaced by a more traditional powder blue look in 2003. Recently, UNC has been experimenting with alternate uniforms featuring different colors (such as navy blue) and unique designs (such as sequined jerseys).
Whether you prefer UNC’s classic powder blue look or one of their more modern designs, there’s no deny that the Tar Heels have some pretty sweet uniforms.
