The University of North Florida Ospreys baseball team represents the University of North Florida in Collegiate Baseball The Ospreys compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Sun Conference (A-Sun). They play their home games at UNF Baseball Complex The Ospreys are currently coached by Smoke Laval.

Assuming that things go according to plan and there are no more rainouts, the UNF Baseball Team will have played twice by the time this article comes out. The season started on February 16th with a game against the University of Tampa and they are scheduled to play again on the 20th against Middle Georgia State University Here is a brief rundown of what you can expect from the team this season.

The UNF baseball team is looking to build on last year’s momentum, when they finished with a record of 33-22. This year, they have added some new players to the roster and are hoping to improve their standing in the conference. The team is coached by dustin hendrix, who is entering his third season at the helm. There are a total of 30 games scheduled for this season, so there will be plenty of opportunities to catch the team in action. The University of North Florida (UNF) Ospreys baseball team has finalized its schedule for the 2019 season, and there are plenty of great games to catch!

The Ospreys will open their season on the road with a three-game series against the Michigan Wolverines from February 15-17. This will be followed by a six-game homestand, which includes a three-game set against the USF Bulls and a three-game weekend series against the Rhode Island Rams.

Some other key games on the schedule include a Home game against in-state rival Florida Gulf Coast University on March 5, as well as back-to-back road series against conference foes Liberty and Lipscomb in late April.

The Ospreys will wrap up their regular season with a four-game home stand against conference opponents Kennesaw State and North Alabama

Unf baseball: players to watch this season

The UNF Baseball team is gearing up for another great season! This year, there are a few players that you won’t want to miss. Here are a few players to keep your eye on:

First up is Junior Outfielder/First Baseman, Jordan Austin. Austin is coming off of an impressive Sophomore season in which he led the team in batting average (.323), hits (55), home runs (9), and RBIs (38). He was also named to the Second Team All-Atlantic Sun

Next is Senior Catcher, Mike Cassala. Cassala is a two-time Atlantic Sun All-Conference selection and was named to the 2017 preseason First Team All-Atlantic Sun. He is a big part of the UNF offense and will be looking to help the team make another run at the conference title this season.

Junior pitcher, Chris gau will also be one to Watch This Season Last year as a Sophomore, gau had a 3.86 ERA in 14 appearances (10 starts). He also tallied 50 strikeouts in 62.1 innings pitched He will be looking to build on his success from last season and help lead the UNF pitching staff.

This season, the Ospreys will be led by senior pitcher Austin Young, who was named the ASUN Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Young is joined by fellow senior Case Rolen, who was named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team. Rounding out the talented trio is junior shortstop Mikey Reynolds, who earned a spot on the Perfect Game/Rawlings Preseason All-America second team.

As the college baseball season comes to an end, the University of North Florida (UNF) Ospreys are ranked number one in the state, and their fans couldn’t be more excited.

This season, the team had an impressive 30-5 record in conference play and 44-11 overall. They won their first ASUN title and made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
