The History of Union Hockey
Union Hockey has a long and proud tradition of excellence. The team was founded in 1891, and has been a powerhouse in college hockey ever since. Union has won 3 NCAA Division I National Championships, in 1954, 1970, and 1971. The team has also been runners-up 5 times, in 1958, 1959, 1963, 1967, and 1996. In addition to their on-ice success, Union has also produced numerous NHL players over the years, including Shawn Bates, Rich Pilon, and Bob Carpenter.
