The University of South Florida Bulls Baseball Team is currently in the midst of their 2019 season. Under Head Coach Mark Kingston, in his third year at the helm, the team is off to a strong start with a record of 26-11 (11-4 in conference play).
The Bulls have been a strong offensive team all season, ranking in the top 25 in the country in runs scored (7th), batting average (19th), on-base percentage (24th), and Slugging percentage (24th). They also have good power, ranking 14th in the nation in home runs Defensively, they have been solid as well, ranking 22nd in the country in Fielding percentage
Pitching has been the team’s main weakness this season. The Bulls rank just outside the top 100 in ERA (101st) and have given up the 23rd most walks in the country. However, they do have some bright spots on their pitching staff. Closer Riley Olson has been outstanding, recording 12 saves while posting a 0.77 ERA. Starting pitcher Shane McClanahan has also been very good, going 5-1 with a 2.48 ERA.
