The UW-Milwaukee Panthers are coming off a strong 2018 season in which they went 37-22 and claimed the Horizon League Championship. They’ll look to build on that success in 2019, and there are several key games on the schedule that you won’t want to miss. Here’s a look at some of the top matchups:

vs. Wright State (April 5-7): The Panthers open up conference play at home against Wright State one of their main rivals in the Horizon League This will be a tough test to start the season, but if they can come away with a series win it will be a big boost for their chances of repeat as league champions.

at Youngstown State (April 26-28): Youngstown State is another team that is always near the top of the Horizon League standings, so this will be another crucial conference series for the Panthers. They’ll need to be at their best to come away with a win on the road against a very good team.

vs. University of Wisconsin (May 14): The Panthers close out their regular season at home against in-state rival Wisconsin. This is always one of the most hotly contested games on their schedule, so you can be sure that both teams will be giving it their all. The 2019 UWM Baseball Team is loaded with talent and there are a few players that stand out above the rest. Here are three player profiles that you won’t want to miss.

Chris Cooper is a senior pitcher for the Panthers and he is coming off of a spectacular 2018 season. In 2018, Cooper pitched to a 2.48 ERA in 14 starts and he was named first team All-Horizon League Cooper is a strikeout pitcher and he has the ability to pitch deep into games. He is the ace of the UWM pitching staff and he will be fun to Watch This Season

Trent Preszler is a junior infielder/outfielder for the Panthers and he is one of the best all-around players on the team. Preszler hit .333/.408/.542 with eight home runs 32 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 2018. He was also named first team All-Horizon League Preszler has the ability to play multiple positions and he is a key piece of the UWM offense.

Nick Romero is a sophomore pitcher for the Panthers and he is coming off of an impressive freshman season. In 2018, Romero pitched to a 2.86 ERA in 15 appearances (seven starts). He struck out 47 batters in 54 innings pitched and he was named second team All-Horizon League Romero has star potential and he could be one of the best pitchers in the league this season.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers are set to open their 2020 season on February 14th with a three-game series at Illinois State After that, they’ll have a four-game home stand against Northern Illinois before hitting the road again. Here are some of the key games on their schedule this season.

Panthers vs. Illinois State (February 14-16)
This will be the Panthers’ first test of the season, and a chance to see how they stack up against one of the best teams in the conference.

Panthers vs. Northern Illinois (February 21-24)

Panther Prowl is an opportunity for young fans to meet their favorite UW-Milwaukee athletes before select Friday Night home games Fans can get autographs and take pictures with several different Panther athletes from various sports.

UWM Faculty & Staff Appreciation Days are Wednesdays during the season where faculty and staff from any school or company can present their valid ID at the box office to receive $5 off any adult or senior ticket, or $2 off any youth ticket.
