What to Expect From YHC Baseball

The Yellowhammers Constantine (YHC) are scheduled to play one hundred and sixty-two regular season games in 2020. They will face off against teams in their conference, the West, and other interleague opponents. The team hopes to qualify for the post-season and make a run at the World Series title.

Games are typically played Monday through Saturday, with occasional Day Games The season starts in late March/early April and ends in early October, weather permitting. Post-season games may be played into November.

Tickets for home games can be purchased online or at the box office on game day Seating is reserved, so it is recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance. Ticket prices range from $9-$32, depending on the game and seat location.

Young Harris College (YHC) announced their baseball schedule for the upcoming season The YHC baseball team will play their first game on February 1st against the University of North Georgia at Bobcat Field.

While all of YHC’s home games will be played at Bobcat Field, away games will take place at various colleges and universities throughout Georgia. Some of the schools that the team will be playing against include Berry College Emory University, Oglethorpe University, and Reinhardt University.

The YHC Baseball Team will also take part in three tournaments throughout the season. The first tournament will be held in Valdosta, GA from February 7-9. The second tournament will be held in Rome, GA from February 21-23. And finally, the team will compete in the Coastal Carolina Tournament from March 6-8.

The YHC Baseball Schedule is full of exciting games and events. Here are some of the Highlights:

-The home opener is against the defending World Series champion Houston Astros on April 3 at Minute Maid Park
-Interleague play begins on May 18, with the Texas Rangers coming to Minute Maid Park for a three-game series
-On June 5-7, the New York Yankees make their first trip to Minute Maid Park since 2013.
-The Boston Red Sox come to Houston for a three-game series on Aug. 31-Sept. 2.

YHC baseball players to Watch

As we head into the 2019 season, here are some Young Harris College baseball players to keep an eye on:

Pitcher Will Jones is coming off a stellar 2018 campaign in which he posted a 5-1 record and a 3.38 ERA. The left-hander will be looking to build on that success this year and anchor the pitching staff.

Infielder/outfielder Hunter Heaton was one of the team’s leading hitters last season, batting .333 with four home runs and 34 RBIs. He will once again be counted on to provide a spark at the plate.

Outfielder Tanner Burns is a versatile player who can make things happen on both Offense and defense He led the team in stolen bases last year (15) and also plays excellent defense in center field.
