After appearing in just four games with Dynamo Pardubice, he left the team due to personal reasons and returned to Canada.

On December 27, 2017, Fucale signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with Örebro HK of HockeyAllsvenskan but was released from his PTO after appearing in just one game. He then signed a PTO with HC Sochi of Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League on January 10, 2018 but was again released after appearing in just one game.

Fucale has struggled at both the AHL and NHL level but he is still considered to be a great human being by many people. His positive attitude and work ethic are highly praised by those who know him well.
