The College of DuPage men’s basketball team is headed to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament after receiving the Midwest District’s automatic bid.

The College of DuPage Men’s basketball team is headed to the National Tournament after their successful season The team had an outstanding year, finishing with a record of 27-5. This is the first time in the school’s history that they have been invited to the National Tournament.
Headed to National Tournament:
The College of DuPage men’s Basketball team is headed to the National Tournament after winning the Region IV championship. The tournament will be held in Danville, Illinois from March 14-17. The team is seeded seventh in the nation and will take on tenth-seeded Owens Community College in the first round on Thursday, March 14 at 3:00 p.m. CDT.
The team’s journey:
The College of DuPage men’s basketball team is heading to the National tournament after an amazing journey this season. The team had a great regular season but the real story began in the post-season. In the regionals, the team was down by 15 points with just 5 minutes left in the game. But they fought back and won by 2 points in overtime. Then, in the semi-finals, they were down by 3 points with only seconds left on the clock. But they hit a buzzer-beating three pointer to win the game and head to the National tournament!
The players:
The College of DuPage men’s basketball team is headed to the National junior college Athletic Association Division III tournament for the first time in school history.
The Chaparrals (23-9) will take on Wabash Valley (27-5) in the first round on Wednesday, March 15, at 2 p.m. CST at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
The team is led by second-year Head Coach Matt Lottich and assistant coaches Dwayne Stephens and Bryan Edwards. Lottich was named the Midwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, Stephens was named the NJCAA Region IV Coach of the Year and Edwards was named the NJCAA District B Coach of the Year.
The Chaparrals are led by a trio of sophomores: guard Jalen Hodge (21.4 points per game), forward Anthony Newby (12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds per game) and guard Davideah Collins (11.5 points, 5.0 assists per game).

The College of DuPage men’s basketball team is headed to the National Tournament for the first time in school history, and the coaches re Feeling confident.
“We’ve been working really hard,” said head coach Ryan Shaw. “The guys have been buying in and we’re just excited to see what we can do on a national stage.”
Assistant coach Kevin McKenna agreed, saying that the team has the talent and determination to make a run at the title.
“We believe in these guys,” McKenna said. “They’ve worked so hard all season and they deserve this opportunity. We’re just going to go out there and give it our all.”
The College of DuPage men’s basketball team will take on Owens Community College in the first round of the National Tournament on March 15.

The tournament:

This is the third time in school history that the team has advanced to the National Tournament and the first time since 2015. The tournament will be held from March 14-17 in Danville, Illinois.
The aftermath:
The College of DuPage men’s Basketball team is headed to the national tournament after winning the district title. The team’s manager, Nate Tice, says he’s been deluged with requests for tickets and merchandise.
Tice says the demand has been so high that they’ve had to order more t-shirts and sweatshirts. He says they’ve also had to increase their order of tournament tickets.
The team will leave for the national tournament on Tuesday. They’ll play their first game on Thursday.
