The Pensacola Christian College men’s basketball team is a group of talented young men who work hard to compete at the collegiate level.

Introduction

Pensacola Christian College (PCC) is a private, non-denominational Christian college in Pensacola, Florida. Founded in 1974 by Arlin and Beka Horton, PCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. The school’s mission is “to impact the world by providing quality education from a biblical perspective.”

PCC offers over 50 undergraduate programs of study and seven graduate programs. The school also has an extensive online education program. PCC has an enrollment of over 4,000 students, representing all 50 states and more than 60 countries.

The PCC Men’s Basketball team competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Division I level. The team is a member of the Mid-South Conference The team plays its home games at the 5,000 seat Turner Gymnasium on campus.

While the majority of PCC graduates do enter Christian service as pastors, missionaries, youth ministers, counselors, and the like, many have gone on to successful careers in business, law, medicine, education, and a host of other vocations.

The Team

The Pensacola Christian College men’s basketball team is a athletic group of young men who are committed to glorifying God through their sport. The team is coached by Tim Lewis, who has been coaching at the college for 10 years. The team’s 16 members come from all over the country, with two players from Canada. The average height of the team is 6’4” and they range in age from 18-22 years old.

The Coach

Pensacola Christian College Men’s Basketball is led by Head Coach Tim Murphy. Murphy has been the head coach since the 2014-15 season. He has over 20 years of experience coaching basketball, including stops at the collegiate and professional levels. Coach Murphy’s teams are known for their strong defense and disciplined play. Under his leadership, the PCC men’s Basketball team has won two conference championships and made two appearances in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament

The Fans

Without the fans, college basketball would not be nearly as popular. The fans add to the excitement of the game by cheering on their team and booing the opposing team They also contribute to the atmosphere of the game by wearing their team’s colors and draped in their team’s flags.

The Arena

The Arena at the Pensacola Christian College is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Pensacola, Florida. It was built in 1994 and is home to the Pensacola Christian College Eagles men’s basketball team The arena also hosts graduation ceremonies, concerts, and other events.

The Conference

The Pensacola Christian College Men’s basketball team competes in the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I. The NCCAA D1 is made up of thirteen teams, eleven of which are from the United States The PCC Eagles are in the Mid-East Region of the NCCAA D1 and compete against some familiar foes, such as Faulkner University, Freed-Hardeman University, and Campbellsville University.

The Post-Season

The Pensacola Christian College men’s basketball team’s journey to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II National Championship ended on Tuesday, March 10 in a loss to Midland University The Eagles, who were the tournament’s number four seed, won their first three games before falling to the top-seeded Warriors in the semifinals.

The Eagles finish the season with a record of 28-7. It is the second time in three years that Pensacola Christian has reached the NAIA DII National Tournament
