Samford’s Offense
The Samford Bulldogs men’s basketball team executed a well-rounded offensive game plan to perfection Saturday afternoon, helping the squad to a resounding 84-68 victory over the Furman Paladins The win marked the team’s second straight Southern Conference victory and gave Samford a 7-4 record in league play.
Samford’s Bench
In a game that saw three lead changes and neither team leading by more than seven points, Samford’s bench rose to the occasion and propelled the Bulldogs to their fourth straight win. Samford’s bench players outscored their counterparts 24-9, with senior Quantez Robertson leading the way with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Other Team’s Defense
The other team’s defense was no match for Samford’s offense, as the Bulldogs romped to another victory.
Samford’s shooters were hot from the start, and the team quickly built a lead that they would never relinquish. The Bulldogs’ defense was also stingy, allowing the other team to score only a handful of points.
With the win, Samford’s record improves to 9-1 on the season. The team will look to continue their winning ways next week when they take on their conference rivals.
The Other Team’s Offense
In their last game, the Samford Bulldogs’ offense was on fire, scoring 96 points and winning by 27. The other team’s offense was no match for the Bulldogs’ aggressive defense, managing only 69 points.
The Other Team’s Bench
The Samford Bulldogs basketball team won again last night, this time against their cross-town rivals, the Birmingham-Southern Panthers. The final score was 92-64, with the Bulldogs leading the whole game.
Coach Scott Padgett was pleased with his team’s performance, especially their defense. “Our guys did a great job of keeping them out of the paint and making them shoot from the outside,” he said.
The Bulldogs will now move on to face the University of Alabama in their next game.
The Fans
The fans are the ones who create the atmosphere at every game. They are the ones who paint their faces, wear the team jerseys, and stand up to cheer on their team. They are also the ones who boo the other team and chant derogatory things. The fans play a big role in every game.
The Referees
Last night, the Samford Bulldogs basketball team won their fourth game in a row, beating the Alabama Crimson Tide 79-78. The team’s success is due in part to the strong play of their star player guard Jamal Shuler. But it’s also thanks to the referees, who have been making some key calls in Samford’s favor lately.
In last night’s game, for example, the refs called a foul on Alabama’s star player forward John Petty when he was trying to block Shuler’s shot. That gave Shuler two Free throws which he made to put Samford up by two points. The Crimson Tide tried to come back, but ultimately they couldn’t make up the difference and Samford won the game.
The refs have been coming under fire from some fans recently for what they perceive as bias against their team. But whatever your opinion on the matter, there’s no denying that the refs have had a big impact on Samford’s recent success.
