As the weather gets colder and the days get shorter, many people turn to basketball for their winter sports fix. Torrey Pines high school boys’ basketball is no different, and this year’s team is looking to build on last year’s success. Here are five must-see games this season:

1) December 12th vs. La Costa Canyon – These two teams always put on a good show, and this game should be no different. La Costa Canyon will be looking to avenge last year’s loss to Torrey Pines, so expect a hard-fought battle.

2) January 9th vs. Rancho Buena Vista – Rancho Buena Vista is always one of the top teams in San Diego County, and this game will be a good measuring stick for the Falcons. This will be a fast-paced game with plenty of scoring.

3) February 6th vs. Westview – Westview is another top team in the county, and this game will feature two of the best players in San Diego County in Torrey Pines’ Matt Mitchell and Westview’s Miles Norris. This should be a great game to watch.

4) February 27th vs. Poway – Poway is always tough at home, but Torrey Pines has had success there in recent years This will be a physical game but one that Torrey Pines should be able to win if they can execute offensively.

5) March 3rd vs. Canyon Crest – The regular season finale against Canyon Crest should be a great game Both teams will be fighting for playoff positioning, so expect a intense atmosphere and a great game between these two rivals.

The first game of the season is always an exciting one, and this year is no different. The Torrey Pines Basketball team will be facing off against their longtime rivals, the San Dieguito high school Mustangs. This game is sure to be a close one, so be sure to catch it!

The second game of the season is December 10, 2015, against Rancho Bernardo. This game is special because it’s the first time these two teams will play each other since the 2014 CIF state championship That game was decided in the final seconds, with Torrey Pines winning by a single point. This year’s matchup promises to be just as exciting, so don’t miss it!

The third game of the season will be held on December 17, 2015. The opponent has not been determined yet, but it promises to be a close match. This will be the last Home game before winter break, so come out and support your team!

Come out and support your Torrey Pines High School basketball team as they take on conference rival, Poway high school in what is sure to be an exciting game! This game will be held on January 14, 2016, at 7:00pm in the Torrey Pines High School gym.

Torrey Pines Basketball – Game 8: January 21, 2016

On January 21, 2016, the Torrey Pines Varsity Basketball team will take on their long-time rivals, the La Jolla Vikings. This game has been much anticipated by fans of both teams, as it is always a heated matchup. The two teams have met a total of 27 times, with Torrey Pines leading the series 16-11.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season, and both are coming into the game with identical 7-2 records. La Jolla is coming off of a loss to Scripps Ranch, while Torrey Pines is coming off of a win against Rancho Bernardo.

The game will be held at Torrey Pines High School and tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
