Introduction
Spring is in the air, and that means it’s time for baseball! Liberty University’s baseball team is gearing up for another season of hard-hitting competition. Here are some games you won’t want to miss this year.
March 3: vs. University of Virginia
This game will be the Flames’ first against a Division I opponent this season. Liberty is looking to prove that they can compete with the best of the best.
March 17: vs. Longwood University
This rivalry game is always a must-see. The two teams will be battling it out for supremacy in the state of Virginia.
April 14: vs. Old Dominion University
ODU is always a tough opponent, but the Flames have had success against them in recent years This should be an exciting game.
May 12: Big South Conference Tournament
The Flames will be looking to reclaim their conference tournament title this year. This will be their chance to show that they are the best team in the Big South
Liberty University’s Baseball Schedule
The Liberty University Flames Baseball Team is set to have an action-packed season. With so many games on the schedule, it can be hard to keep track of them all. Here are some games that you won’t want to miss:
-March 1st: The Flames take on the Clemson Tigers in their home opener
-March 5th: Liberty will take on the reigning ACC champions, the Virginia Cavaliers
-March 8th: The Flames host the East Carolina Pirates in a three-game series
-April 9th: Liberty travels to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies.
-May 14th: The Flames close out their regular season at home against the Radford Highlanders.
Games to Watch This Season
As the Liberty University baseball team winds down its regular season there are a few key games that fans should be sure to catch before the playoffs begin.
On Tuesday, April 23rd, the Flames will take on Virginia Tech in a battle of top-ranked teams. This game is sure to be a pitching duel, as both teams boast some of the best pitchers in the nation.
On Friday, May 10th, Liberty will take on conference rivalRadford in what could be a preview of the conference tournament Championship game These two teams always seem to bring out the best in each other, and this game is sure to be another close one.
Finally, on Saturday, May 25th, the Flames will close out their Regular Season at home against UNC Asheville This game will have playoff implications for both teams, as they fight for position in the Conference Standings

Why You Should Watch These Games
As a Liberty fan, you don’t want to miss a single second of the action this season. Here are some of the mostanticipated match-ups that you won’t want to miss.
3/1 vs James Madison – The Dukes are always a tough team, and this will be our first test of the season.
3/2 vs Longwood – This game is special because it’s Liberty’s home opener. Be sure to come out and support your Flames!
4/5 vs Virginia Tech – Tech is always a tough opponent, and this will be a good measure of where we stand early in the season.
4/19 vs Richmond – This game against the Spiders is always heated, and it’s sure to be a good one.

The Players to Watch
In his three years on the team, center fielder Zacchaeus Rasberry has been a top player helping the Flames to a conference championship in 2017. He was named to the Big South all-conference first team and the NCAA all-Midwest region second team as a junior after batting .358 with 19 RBIs and 12 stolen bases Rasberry is expected to be one of the top hitters in the conference again this season and will be a key player for the Flames.
The Coaches
The Liberty University Baseball Coaching Staff is led by Head Coach Scott Jackson. Coach Jackson is entering his ninth season as the Flames’ skipper, and he has compiled a 293-225 (.566) record during his time in Lynchburg. He has guided the Flames to six 30-win seasons, including a program-record 39 victories in 2014, and has taken Liberty to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship four times (2009, 2010, 2014, 2016). Prior to coming to Liberty, Jackson served as an Assistant Coach at his alma mater, High School head coach and college Head Coach
The Fans
Without the fans, Liberty University Baseball would not be where it is today. The Flames have some of the most dedicated and enthusiastic fans in all of college baseball and they always bring an electric atmosphere to the ballpark. Liberty has consistently ranked near the top of attendance in the Big South Conference and they were even ranked as high as fourth in the nation in 2014.
Liberty is always looking for ways to improve the game day experience for their fans. In recent years they have added a kids zone and a fan deck to Instalment Loans Field at Liberty Ballpark. The fan deck is a Great Place to watch the game and catch up with friends, and it also has an incredible view of downtown Lynchburg.

The Stadium
The Stadium has a capacity of 8,000 people and is located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The field dimensions are 325 feet (99 m) to left field 400 feet (122 m) to center field, and 325 feet (99 m) to right field. The Liberty Baseball Team has only played in the stadium since 2015.
