Gary Sanchez is the team’s starting catcher. He is one of the top prospects in all of baseball and is considered by many to be the Yankees’ catcher of the future. Sanchez is a big, strong kid with a rocket arm. He still needs to work on his receiving and blocking, but his bat is what makes him special.Gary Sanchez is considered by many to be the Yankees’ catcher of the future.

Kyle Higashioka is the team’s backup catcher. He’s a defense-first guy with a strong arm and good receiving skills. His bat isn’t anything to write home about, but he’s a solid player who can fill in admirably when called upon.

Wilkin Castillo is a veteran catcher who was signed by the Yankees midway through last season. He didn’t see much action with the RailRiders, but he did hit .333/.333/.444 in limited duty. Castillo will likely begin the season as the team’s third catcher and could see some time in New York if injuries arise.
