1.Aac Baseball Bracket: The Best of the Best
The American Athletic Conference (AAC) is widely considered to be one of the top baseball conferences in the country. This season, the AAC is home to nine teams that are ranked in the top 50 of the RPI, and several of those teams are legitimate contenders for a national title.
In order to crown an AAC champion, conference officials have decided to hold a special postseason tournament featuring the top eight teams in the Conference Standings This tournament, which will be held at perfect game Field at Dewey Gottwald Stadium in Clearwater, Florida, will feature four first-round games on Wednesday, May 24th followed by two second-round games on Thursday, May 25th. The semifinals will be held on Friday, May 26th, with the Championship game set for Saturday, May 27th.
As things currently stand, Louisville is the top seed in the Aac Tournament thanks to their outstanding regular season record of 42-15 (22-5 AAC). The Cardinals will take on eighth-seeded Houston in the Opening Round of the tournament on Wednesday afternoon. Second-seeded TCU will take on seventh-seeded UCF in another first-round matchup on Wednesday evening, while third-seeded Vanderbilt will battle sixth-seeded Memphis in another first-round game. The fourth and final first-round game will pit fourth-seeded Texas Tech against fifth-seeded Tulane.
The winner of each first-round game will advance to take on one of the other three teams that received a bye into the second round. The Louisville/Houston winner will take on Vanderbilt/Memphis winner in one second-round contest while TCU/UCF winner will face off against Texas Tech/Tulane winner in the other second-round matchup. From there, things get serious as each team remaining will only have one loss left before being eliminated from title contention.
Assuming they win their first game, Louisville would likely face off against either TCU or Texas Tech in the semifinals with a chance to advance to the Championship game and secure an automatic berth into this year’s NCAA tournament With so much talent and so many good teams involved, there’s no telling who might come out on top in this year’s AAC Baseball Tournament But one thing is for sure: it should be a lot of fun to watch!
