Ashley High School’s baseball program has a long tradition of excellence. The team has won numerous conference and State Championships and has produced many Major League Baseball players.

Many of the team’s players have gone on to play professional baseball including Major League Baseball players such as Darrell Evans, Freddie Freeman Brian McCann, and Jeff Francoeur.

Since Ashley high school first fielded a baseball team in 1922, the Ashley tradition of excellence on the diamond has been firmly established. Under the guidance of legendary coach John Green, the Ashley high school Baseball Team won 12 State Championships between 1922 and 1957. Other notable coaches who have helmed the Ashley program include longtime Assistant Coach Pete Johnson and current Head Coach Tim Dutton.

In addition to their 12 State Championships the team has also won 6 Regional Championships and 3 conference championships. The team’s accomplishments are not just limited to their on-field success; Ashley baseball players have also been recognized for their academic achievement, with 16 players earning All-State Academic honors since 2006.
