The College of Charleston Cougars baseball team is coming off of a disappointing season in which they went 24-30 and failed to make the playoffs. The team has some work to do if they want to improve this season. Here are some things they can do:

1. Improve their hitting. The team batting average last season was just .247, which was near the bottom of the Colonial Athletic Association. They need to be more consistent at the plate and put up more runs.

2. Improve their pitching. The team ERA last season was 4.51, which was also near the bottom of the CAA. They need to throw more strikes and keep opposing teams from scoring so many runs.

3. Play better defense. The team had a .967 Fielding percentage last season, which was again near the bottom of the CAA. They need to make more plays in the field and cut down on errors.
