Etbu baseball is excited to release its 2019 roster. This talented group of young men will be looking to make their mark on the program and continue the winning tradition at ETBU.
Introduction
The East Texas Baptist University Tigers are set to embark on their 2019 baseball season The team is led by Head Coach Mark Hooks, who is entering his sixth season at the helm. The roster is made up of a mix of experienced upperclassmen and talented young players Below is a breakdown of the 2019 Tigers Baseball Team

The 2019 East Texas Baptist University baseball team consists of 27 student-athletes from all over the United States The team is made up of 14 Position players and 13 pitchers, all of whom are looking to help the Tigers succeed this season. Here is a closer look at each player on the roster.
Schedule
The 2019 East Texas Baptist University baseball schedule has been released, and the Tigers are ready to take on their opposition. The team will open up their season on February 1st with a three-game series against the University of Alabama Huntsville. From there, they will have a short break before beginning conference play on February 8th against Oklahoma Baptist University The Tigers will also host conference foes Louisiana College, LeTourneau University, and McMurry University at home this season. In total, ETBU will play 56 games in 2019, including 28 at home inside Tiger Field.
Results
The East Texas Baptist University baseball team is coming off a strong campaign in which they made it to the American Southwest conference tournament finals. The team will look to continue their success this season with a roster full of experienced players.
The team is led by senior pitcher Jameson Fisher, who was named the ASC Pitcher of the Year last season. Fisher will be joined by fellow seniors Chase Savage and Tanner Roach in the starting rotation. The rest of the pitching staff includes junior transfer Matt McLaughlin and sophomore left-hander Ryan Season.
The position players are headlined by senior first baseman Brandon Bates, who was also named to the All-ASC first team last season. The infield will also feature seniors Collin Bertrand at second base and Kyle Gray at shortstop. The outfield consists of senior Johnathon Johnson in left field junior Mitchell West in center field, and sophomore Dylan Cook in right field.
Rounding out the roster are sophomore utility player Kobe Richardson and freshman catcher Evan Agnew. head coach Jason Heefner will look to these players to provide depth off the bench and contribute when called upon.

The Tigers have a rich baseball tradition dating back to 1909, when they played their first season. In the 110 years since, the team has seen many Great players come and go. Here are just a few of the Tigers who have made their mark on the game.
Pitcher Ryan Bearden grew up in nearby Longview and played his college ball at ETBU before being drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2006. He returned to his alma mater in 2009 as an Assistant Coach
Infielder Josh Bartlett was a key player on the 2016 team that won ETBU’s first-ever American Southwest conference championship Bartlett was named ASC Player of the Year and went on to play professional baseball for the St. Paul Saints.
Outfielder/pitcher Will Hogue joined the Tigers in 2017 after transferring from Tyler Junior College He was named ASC Newcomer of the Year and helped lead ETBU to its second consecutive conference title Hogue is currently playing professionally for the Houston Astros organization.

The East Texas Baptist University Tigers are a NCAA Division III college baseball team that competes in the American West Conference The team is currently coached by Blake Koch, who just finished his fourth season as Head Coach The Tigers play their home games at Tiger Field on the campus of ETBU in Marshall, Texas.
The team has a rich history, dating back to its days as a junior college program. The Tigers have won two National Junior College World Series titles and have made five trips to the College World Series The team has also produced a number of Major League Baseball players, including Hall of Famer Billy Williams and current Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw
The Tigers are currently in the midst of their 2019 season and are looking to build on their success from last year. The team finished the 2018 season with a 43-10 record and made it to the NCAA Division III World Series for the second time in school history. They are led by a talented group of players, including All-American catcher Colton Ward, who is hitting .345 with 7 home runs and 34 RBIs. Ward is one of four All-Americans on the 2019 roster, along with pitchers Cameron Krischke and Nick Johnson and infielder Brooks Vrazel.

Camps
The East Texas Baptist University Baseball Coaching Staff runs several different types of camps throughout the year. There are many benefits to attending a camp. Players receive instruction from ETBU coaching staff and players on the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, fielding, and Base running Camps also provide an opportunity for players to be evaluated by ETBU coaches for potential recruiting purposes.
While attending an ETBU Baseball Camp players will stay at the beautiful Marshall Village Suites. The Marshall Village Suites are a short walk from the ETBU campus and baseball facilities Players will have a chance to live the life of a college athlete by staying in state of the art dormitories, eating meals in the freshman dining hall, and playing games at picturesque Steelman Field.
