On Tuesday, Fresno State’s baseball team added another win to their season total, defeating the Sacramento State Hornets 9-3. With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 25-25 on the season and 10-14 in conference play
The Bulldogs got off to a hot start in the game, scored four runs in the first inning. Sacramento State answered back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first, but Fresno State tacked on another run in the second to regain their three-run lead. The Hornets would score one more run in the bottom of the fourth, but that’s all they could muster against Fresno State’s pitching staff.
Fresno State’s pitchers did an excellent job of shutting down Sacramento State’s offense, only giving up three runs on six hits while striking out 11 batters. However, Fresno State’s offense was even better, racking up 12 hits and nine runs.
The Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow when they take on Santa Clara at home. The game is scheduled to start at 6:05 p.m.
