The team was founded in the late 1800s, and quickly became one of the most successful programs in the country. The team has won five national championships, and numerous State Championships In recent years the team has continued to be one of the best in the country, winning multiple state championships

Head coach Jeff Mercer has been at the helm of Guerin Catholic Baseball for eight seasons. In that time, he has compiled a record of 205-54, making him the winningest coach in school history. His teams have won three State Championships (2013, 2015, 2016) and have been state runner-up twice (2014, 2017).
What makes Coach Mercer so successful? His players say it’s his tireless work ethic, attention to detail, and knowledge of the game. “He knows what it takes to win,” said senior pitcher Alec Tuohy. “He’s always looking for ways to improve our team and help us be successful.”
In addition to having a great head coach GuerinCatholic also benefits from a committed group of assistant coaches Every one of them played Collegiate Baseball and they bring that knowledge and passion to their coaching positions. They are constantly working with players to help them develop their skills and grow as athletes.

The student-athletes at Guerin Catholic
Guerin Catholic high school is a small, private, Roman Catholic high school in Noblesville, Indiana. The school is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette in Indiana and is located in Hamilton County. Guerin Catholic high school was founded in August of 2000. The school is named after Saint Theodore Guerin, a French missionary who established a number of schools and convents in the United States during the early 1800s.
Guerin Catholic high school enrolls students in grades 9-12. The school has an average class size of 17 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 12:1. Guerin Catholic high school offers a College Prep curriculum that includes Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The school also offers a number of extracurricular activities, including athletics, clubs, and service opportunities.
The student-athletes at Guerin Catholic High School compete in the Indianapolis Contractors Athletic Conference (ICAC). The conference includes eight schools from Indianapolis and central Indiana. Guerin Catholic High School is blessed to have some of the best baseball facilities in the state of Indiana. Our home field, Legacy Fields, is a top-notch venue that is perfect for our student-athletes and fans.
We also have a state-of-the-art indoor training facility, The Cage, that gives our players the ability to work on their craft year-round. The Cage is also available to rent for team practices and training sessions.

The future of Guerin Catholic baseball
With a new season comes new aspirations for the Guerin Catholic baseball program After making it to the semi-state championship game last year, the Golden Eagles have their sights set on winning a state title in 2020.
Guerin Catholic has a rich tradition of success on the diamond, dating back to their first State Championship in 1986. Since then, the Golden Eagles have added five more state titles to their resume, with their most recent coming in 2016.
This year’s team is filled with talent and experience, as they return 12 starters from last year’s semi-state squad. Leading the way will be senior ace pitcher Luke Albright, who has already committed to play baseball at the University of Notre Dame
Other key returnees include senior infielder/outfielder Bryce Bush and junior infielder/outfielderKyle Ferrell. Both players were All-State selections last year and will be looking to lead Guerin Catholic back to the State Finals in 2020.
With a talented roster and a rich tradition of success, the Guerin Catholic Baseball Program is poised for another deep postseason run in 2020.
