The Team that Made it Happen
Ole Miss Baseball is headed to their third consecutive Super Regional after defeating LSU in the Baton Rouge Regional. This is a team that has shown they can come from behind, as evidenced by their walk-off wins in both the regional final and semifinal. Let’s take a look at the team that made it happen.
The starting pitching staff for Ole Miss is anchored by Doug Nikhazy, who was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year. He is joined by Gunnar Hoglund and Will Ethridge, who have both been lights out this season. The bullpen has been led by Ryan Rolison, who has 10 saves on the season.
The offense is led by first baseman Tyler Keenan, who was named the SEC Player of the Year. He is joined by fellow All-SEC selections Thomas Dillard and Ryan Olenek. The team also features big bats in district MVPNick Fortes and Tim Rowe.
The Fans that Supported Them
Ole Miss baseball is headed to the Super Regional for the first time since 2014, and their fans played a big role in getting them there.
Throughout the course of the season, Rebel fans have gotten behind their team in a big way.home games have been packed with supporters decked out in red and blue, and whenever the team has taken their talents on the road, they’ve been met with a sea of Ole Miss fans in the stands.
The team has fed off of this support, playing some of their best baseball of the season down the stretch. They’ll need to continue to do so as they head into a Super Regional matchup with either Vanderbilt or Duke.
If they can win that series, they’ll head to Omaha for the College World Series and with the way their fans have been behind them all season long there’s no telling what they might be able to accomplish.
The Highlights of the Season
The Ole Miss baseball team had an incredible season this year, and their achievements have been nothing short of remarkable. They started off the season strong, winning 19 of their first 20 games. This hot streak continued throughout the rest of the season, and the team finished with a 59-9 record – the best in Ole Miss Baseball history.
The team’s success can be attributed to their strong pitching staff, which had a combined ERA of 2.67 – the second-best in all of college baseball Their offense was also top-notch, as they scored an average of 7.3 runs per game – good for fifth in all of college baseball
Ole Miss’ stellar season has led them to a spot in the NCAA Super Regional where they will take on TCU. The winner of this best-of-three series will advance to the College World Series
The Game that Got Them There
Ole Miss baseball is headed to a Super Regional this weekend after defeatingLouisiana State University in the Baton Rouge Regional. The team will now face off against the University of Arkansas in a best-of-three series, with the first game set for Friday Night
The Rebels have been on a roll lately, winning 16 of their last 19 games. They’ll need to continue that hot streak if they want to advance to the College World Series
The key to Ole Miss’ success has been their pitching staff, which has been lights out all season. In the Baton Rouge Regional, the pitching staff posted a 0.93 ERA, with starters Connor Idleberg and Gunnar Hoglund leading the way.
If the pitching staff can stay sharp Ole Miss has a good chance of winning their first ever Super Regional and making it to Omaha for the College World Series

“Our guys have worked so hard to get to this point,” Bianco said. “They’ve put in a lot of time and effort, and I couldn’t be more proud of them. We’re excited for the opportunity to keep playing and keep representing Ole Miss ”
The future is bright for Ole Miss baseball and with Bianco at the helm, the sky is the limit.
What This Means for the SEC
This weekend, the Ole Miss Rebels will face off against the Louisiana State University Tigers in a best-of-three series in the Baton Rouge Super Regional. The winner of this series will advance to the College World Series
This is big news for the Eastern Conference as it is the first time since 2014 that an SEC team has made it to a Super Regional. It is also a sign of good things to come for the conference, as several other SEC teams (including LSU) are still alive in the NCAA tournament and have a chance to make it to a Super Regional as well.
This is good news for college baseball fans and for the SEC as a whole. The SEC is one of the most competitive conferences in college baseball and it is always exciting when one of its teams makes a deep run in the NCAA tournament
How Ole Miss Stacks Up Against the Competition
As the Ole Miss Baseball Team prepares to face off against the University of Tennessee in the Super Regional, fans are wondering how the team will stack up against their competitors.
Tennessee is coming off of a strong season in which they won the SEC regular season title and made it to the SEC tournament semifinals. The Volunteers have a strong pitching staff, led by ace right-hander Connor Jones Jones has a 3.42 ERA and has struck out 85 batters in 98 innings pitched this season.
The Rebels are no slouches either, with a number of their own stars on the mound. Sophomore left-hander Ryan Rolison has been stellar this season, posting a 2.55 ERA and striking out 103 batters in 93 innings pitched. Rolison will likely be the starter for Ole Miss in game one of the Super Regional.
Ole Miss also has a potent offense, led by junior first baseman Nick Fortes. Fortes is hitting .321 with 10 home runs and 47 RBIs this season. The Rebels will need Fortes and the rest of their offense to be clicking on all cylinders if they want to advance to the College World Series
We’ll have to wait and see how these two teams match up when they take the field this weekend, but it promises to be an exciting series nonetheless.
What’s Next for the Team

The Rebels will need to win two out of three games against Arkansas in order to advance to the College World Series
The Impact of This Win
The Ole Miss baseball team is headed to a Super Regional for the first time in ten years! This is a huge win for the team, the university, and the state of Mississippi.
This win means that Ole Miss will now be one of the top 16 teams in the country competing for a spot in the College World Series This is a big deal for the team, as they have not been this close to a National Championship since they made it to the College World Series in 2014.
This win also has a big impact on the university as a whole. Ole Miss is known for being a football school, but this win puts them on the map as a baseball school as well. This will help attract more students to Ole Miss and it will also help with fundraising for the baseball program
Finally, this win is huge for the state of Mississippi. There are not many college sports teams that represent Mississippi on a national stage, so this win is something that everyone can be proud of. It also helps put Mississippi in a positive light, which is something that is needed after all of the negative publicity that the state has received recently.
