The University of Michigan Wolverines

The University of Michigan Wolverines are always a team to watch in the world of college hockey With a strong track record of success, the Wolverines are always contenders for the National Championship This season is no different, as the Wolverines are ranked No. 2 in the nation and are favored to win the Big Ten conference tournament

The Michigan State University Spartans

As the most successful team in the history of college hockey the Spartans are always a team to watch They have won an NCAA-record 20 National Championships and have produced a long list of NHL stars, including Mike Modano, Greg Maddock, and John Vanbiesbrouck. Spartans Head Coach Danton Cole is a former NHL player and he has led the team to two Frozen Four appearances in his three seasons at the helm. If you’re looking for a team full of future NHL stars, the Spartans are always worth watching.

The Western Michigan University Broncos

The Western Michigan University Broncos are a Hockey Team to Watch This Season The team is currently ranked 10th in the nation, and have been steadily moving up in the rankings over the past few weeks. The Broncos have an impressive 19-4-3 record, and are coming off of a sweep of then-No. 6 Minnesota Duluth

The Broncos are led by sophomore forward Matheson Iacopelli, who has 27 goals and 15 assists on the season. Iacopelli is joined by a strong supporting cast, including junior forwards Sheldon Dries (16 goals, 15 assists) and Colt Conrad (11 goals, 19 assists). In net, the Broncos have two solid goaltenders in senior Fraser McKay and junior Nick Pisellini.

The Broncos have a tough road ahead, with games against No. 2 Notre Dame No. 7 Denver, and No. 8Miami (OH) remaining on their schedule. However, if they can continue to play at the high level they have been throughout the season, they have a good chance at making a run in the NCAA tournament

The Michigan Tech University Huskies

The Michigan Tech University Huskies are a college Ice Hockey team that represents Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. The Huskies are members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). They play their home games at John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The arena seats over 6,000 fans and is one of the tallest arenas in college hockey with a height of 85 feet from the ice surface to the top of the press box.

The Huskies were founded in 1920 and have won three NCAA Division I Men’s Ice hockey Championships (in 1951, 1952, and 1973). They are also eight-time conference champions and have made twenty-four appearances in the NCAA Division I Men’s ice hockey Tournament. The Huskies have produced many NHL players including Glenn Anderson, John Gruden, Tony Esposito, Alex Delvecchio, Kevin Miller, Chris Conner, and Josh Harding.

The University of Detroit Mercy Titans

The University of Detroit Mercy Titans are a Division I college Hockey Team that compete in the National Collegiate Hockey conference (NCHC). The Titans are based in Detroit, Michigan and play their home games at the historic Joe Louis Arena. The 2017-18 Season will be the Titans’ first in the NCHC, after spending the last four seasons in the Atlantic Hockey Conference (AHC).

The Titans are led by head coach Dougie Rowe, who is entering his eleventh season at the helm of the program. Rowe has won two AHC Coach of the Year awards (2014, 2016) and led the Titans to four NCAA Tournament appearances (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017). The 2017-18 season will be a challenge for Rowe and the Titans, as they adjust to playing against tougher competition in the NCHC. But if anyone is up for the challenge, it’s Coach Rowe and his team.

Some Key Players to watch for this season include senior forwards David Pope (15 goals, 13 assists) and Anthony Christodoulou (11 goals, 15 assists). Pope is coming off of a strong 2016-17 campaign in which he was named First Team All-AHC. Christodoulou is a two-time All-AHC selection (Second Team in 2016-17, Third Team in 2015-16) who will provide leadership and scoring punch for the Titans this season.

Other players to keep an eye on include junior goaltender Chase Perry (9-9-1, 2.65 GAA, .920 SV%), who had a solid rookie campaign last season; and freshman forward Abdallah Morran (11 goals, 18 assists), who was named Rookie of the Year in the AHC last season.

With a mix of experienced veterans and talented young players the Detroit Mercy Titans are definitely a team to watch this season

The Ferris State University Bulldogs

The Ferris State University Bulldogs are one of the most promising hockey teams in the state of Michigan. The team is led by junior goaltender Darren Smith, who was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Year last season. The Bulldogs also have a strong group of forwards, led by junior Tyler Dorantes. The team is looking to build on their success from last season and make a run at the NCAA tournament

The Central Michigan University Chippewas

The Central Michigan University Chippewas are a Division I college Hockey team that competes in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). The team is based in Mount Pleasant Michigan, and plays its home games at the John G. Kulhavi Events Center. The Chippewas are coached by Mike Bunting, who is in his first season as Head Coach of the team.

The Chippewas are coming off of a 18-19 season in which they finished with a record of 21-17-4, good for sixth place in the NCHC. The team made it to the conference tournament semifinals, where they lost to eventual tournament champion Denver.

This season, the Chippewas will be looking to build on last year’s success and contend for an NCHC title. The team will be led by senior forwards Josh Shalla and Jared Coreau, who were both named to the All-NCHC Preseason Team. Shalla was Central Michigan’s leading scorer last season with 18 goals and 16 assists, while Coreau tallied 17 goals and 15 assists.

Other key players for the Chippewas this season include junior defenseman Zach Whitecloud (4 goals, 11 assists) and sophomore goaltender Austin Parise (2.33 GAA, .918 save percentage).

The Chippewas will open their 2019-20 season on October 11th against RPI.

The Eastern Michigan University Eagles

The Eastern Michigan University Eagles are a NCAA Division 1 college hockey team that plays in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association The team is currently coached by Jeff Blashill and captain by Andrew Google. The Eagles finished the 2012-2013 season with an overall record of 18-17-2.

The Northern Michigan University Wildcats

Under first-year Head coach Grant Potulny, the NMU Wildcats are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2017-2018 season in which they finished last in the WCHA. The team has a lot of potential, however, and if they can put it all together they could be a force to be reckoned with in the conference. Some players to keep an eye on include forwards Robbie Payne and Troy Loggins, who both had great seasons last year, and goaltender Atte Tolvanen, who was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team With a little bit of luck, this could be a big season for the Wildcats.

The Lake Superior State University Lakers

The Lake Superior State University Lakers are a college hockey team that represents Lake Superior State University The Lakers are a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), and compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level. The team is currently coached by Damon Whitten, who is in his first season as head coach of the Lakers.

The Lakers have won two NCAA Division I championships, in 1988 and 1994. They have also won six conference championships in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1991. The Lakers have appeared in ten Frozen Fours: 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1994. They have also been elected to play in the 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s ice hockey Tournament.
