Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics are a professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C., playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded prior to the 1998 season, and is owned and operated by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which also owns and operates the Mystics’ NBA counterpart, the Washington Wizards The Mystics have qualified for the NBA playoffs in twelve of their twenty-one seasons in Washington, winning conference titles in 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007–08; they have also appeared in two NBA Finals losing to Los Angeles in 2002 and Phoenix in 2014.

The Georgetown Hoyas are one of the most successful college basketball teams in history. They have won five NCAA Division I Mens Basketball Championships and have been to the Final Four 20 times. The Hoyas have produced many Great players including Allen Iverson Dikembe Mutombo and Alonzo Mourning. The Hoyas play their home games at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., and their fans are some of the most passionate in the country. George Mason Patriots
The George Mason Patriots are a Division I men’s Basketball team representing George Mason University They play in the Atlantic 10 Conference and are currently coached by Dave Paulsen. The Patriots have reached the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament four times: in 1987, 1988, 1989, and 2011. They are the only team to have advanced to the Round of 32 in each of those tournaments. The Patriots also appeared in the National Invitation Tournament four times: in 1980, 1981, 1982, and 1984.
