Introduction

Since 1992, the Cy Creek Basketball Program has striven to be one of the top programs not just in Houston, but in the state of Texas. The program has been very successful in recent years with two State Championships and multiple trips to the Final Four.

The team is made up of student-athletes who are dedicated to their sport and who strive to be the best they can be both on and off the court. The Coaching Staff is committed to helping each player reach their full potential.

History

The Cypress Creek High School basketball team was founded in 2002. The team has been coached by Hank Johnson since its inception. Coach Johnson led the team to its first district title in 2006 and has since taken the team to the playoffs every year. The team is currently the 5A District Champions and ranked #3 in the state of Texas.

The Team

The Cy Creek Basketball team is made up of five starters and seven bench players The starters are the point guard shooting guard small forward Power Forward and center. The bench players are the sixth man seventh man, eighth man, ninth man, and tenth man.

The point guard is the leader of the team on the court. They are responsible for running the offense and making sure that everyone is in the right place. The shooting guard is responsible for scoring points. They need to be able to shoot well from long range and be able to drive to the basket. The small forward is a jack-of-all-trades. They need to be able to score, rebound, and play defense The power forward is responsible for rebounding and Playing Defense They also need to be able to score around the basket. The center is the tallest player on the team. They are responsible for rebounding and playing defense. They also need to be able to score around the basket.

The Sixth Man is the first player off of the bench. They need to be able to come in and provide a spark for the team. The seventh man is the second player off of the bench. They need to be able to come in and provide a spark for the team. The eighth man is the third player off ofthe bench. The Coach

Coach Rebecca Villareal is starting her 12th season as Head Coach of the Cy Creek Girls Basketball Program She has led the Cougars to the playoffs in 10 of her 11 seasons, with 5 trips to the regional tournament In 2015-2016, Coach Villareal was named District Coach of the Year after leading the Cougars to a share of the District Championship.

The Cy Creek Basketball team has a strong and loyal fan base. The fans are passionate about their team and show their support in a variety of ways. From cheering them on at games to attending team events, the fans are always there for the team.
