The History of the ACAA Basketball
The Association of Christian Athletic Associations (ACAA) is a league of eleven small colleges and universities who share a common commitment to athletic participation with excellence and purpose.
The ACAA began in 1991 with just five schools. In the years since, the league has expanded to include eleven schools, all of which are located in the eastern United States The ACAA is dedicated to providing opportunities for athletes to compete at the highest level while also promoting the development of the whole person.
The ACAA sponsors nine men’s and eight women’s sports, including basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, track & field, and volleyball. The ACAA Basketball Tournament is held every February, with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament

ACAA basketball is a Christian College Athletic Association that sponsors 8 men’s and 9 women’s basketball programs The purpose of the ACAA is to promote the development of its member schools through athletic participation and excellence in order to achieve their educational purposes.
The ACAA has been around since the early 1990s and originally only had five active members. In order to become a member, schools must be affiliated with or endorsed by a national or regional accrediting body. The ACAA is unique in that it is one of the only athletic leagues in the country that limits its membership to Christian colleges and universities.
Currently, there are eight men’s and nine women’s programs that compete in the ACAA Basketball League Men’s teams include: BC Four Winds, Central Biblical College, Emmanuel Bible College, Manhattan Christian College, Pilgrim Bible College, Tennessee Temple University West Virginia Wesleyan College, and William Carey University. Women’s teams include: Bluefield College, Central Baptist College Christendom College, Emmanuel Bible College, Georgia Highlands College, Loyala University Maryland, Manhattan Christian College, Pilgrim Bible College, and Tennessee Temple University.
The regular season usually runs from early November to late February. All of the games are played on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons so that they do not interfere with students’ class schedules. conference tournament games are typically held during the first week of March with the Championship game being played on the following Saturday. The ACAA Basketball Tournament champion earns an automatic bid to participate in the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Men’s & Women’s Basketball Tournament
