Air Force Hockey Roster Set for Upcoming Season

The Air Force Hockey Team has announced its roster for the upcoming season The team is made up of 22 players, including 12 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders.

Introducing the 2020-21 Air Force Hockey Roster

The Air Force Hockey Team is gearing up for the 2020-21 season, and we’re excited to introduce the new roster. This year’s team features 11 new players, including six forwards, three defensemen and two goalies.

Forwards:

-Sophomore transfer Jack Barreca will look to make an impact up front after a successful career at the junior level.

-Freshman Luke Edwards comes to Air Force from the United States Hockey League where he tallied 22 goals and 18 assists in 58 games last season.

-Freshmen Logan Lindholm and Peyton Morin will also look to make an impact on the offensive end. Both players come to Air Force from the Alberta Junior Hockey League where they were teammates on the Brooks Bandits.

-Rounding out the group of forwards are sophomores Tyler Ledford and Cole Gunnersen, who will both be looking to build on their successful freshman seasons.

Defensemen:

-The defensive corps will be anchored by junior captain Garrett Peterson, who has been a stalwart on the blue line for the past two seasons.

-Sophomore Cameron Clarke will also return to anchor the defense after a successful freshman campaign.

-Rounding out the group of defensemen are freshmen Ryan Bletter and Jakob Snowden, who both come to Air Force from Junior hockey leagues in Canada. Both players will look to make an immediate impact on the defensive end.

Forwards

The Air Force Hockey team has finalized its roster for the upcoming season with 12 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders set to compete for the Falcons.

The forwards are:

Nick Boka, Sr., F, Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. (9-19-2, 3 A in 38 GP last season)

AJ DeAngelo, So., F, Clonee, Ireland (1-4-5 in 25 GP last season)

Luke Edwards, Sr., F, Grand Ledge Mich. (10-8-18 in 38 GP last season)

Brandon Koch, Jr., F, Livingston, N.J. (2-1-3 in 12 GP last season)

Jack Kucerovych , So., F/D , Dublin , Ohio (0-2=2 in 25 GP last season) Jack Malone , So., F , West Seneca , N.Y. (DID NOT PLAY LAST SEASON) Michael Mulhallen , Fr., F , Aurora , Colo.

Defensemen

The Air Force hockey team will have a deep and experienced defensemen corps this season, according to the recently released roster.

Headlining the group is senior Lukefalke (Edina, Minn.), who has been named a team captain for the 2019-20 campaign. The 6-1, 200-pound defenseman appeared in all 37 games for the Falcons last season, setting career highs in goals (3), assists (11) and points (14). He also led the team in blocked shots with 77.

Goaltenders

The Air Force hockey team will have two goaltenders on its roster for the upcoming season

Junior Paul Kirtland and sophomore Tyler Mendel will share the goaltending duties for the Falcons this season. Kirtland, who is from Plymouth, Minn., appeared in 18 games last season and posted a 3.13 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage Mendel, who is from Duluth, Ga., appeared in seven games last season and posted a 2.57 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.

Special Teams

The Air Force Hockey Team has finalized its roster for the upcoming season and the team will feature some new faces on special teams

Among the newcomers is junior forward Hayden Shaw, who will serve as the team’s primary penalty kill negotiator. Shaw comes to Air Force from the University of Alberta, where he was a member of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Championship team.

“Hayden is a smart, heady player who reads the play well,” said Air Force Head Coach Frank Serratore. “He’s also an excellent skater and has a good shot. We’re looking for him to be a key contributor on special teams.”

Another new face on special teams is freshman defenseman Matt Bartels, who will serve as a key cog on the Falcons’ Power play unit. Bartels comes to Air Force from St. Thomas Academy in Minnesota, where he was a two-time all-state selection.

“Matt is an outstanding puck-moving defenseman with great vision,” said Serratore. “He has the ability to make things happen offensively, and we’re counting on him to be a big part of our power play

The Schedule

The wait is finally over for Air Force hockey fans as the team announced its schedule for the upcoming season The Falcons will open the season at home against Merrimack on October 6th and will play a total of 27 games at the Cadet Ice Arena. Some of the other highlights on the home schedule include games against conference rivals such as Omaha, Denver, and North Dakota and non-conference foes such as Princeton and Union. Rivalry Games

The Air Force Hockey Team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season which includes many games against rivals.

The Falcons will face off against Army in three games, one at home and two on the road. They will also take on Navy in two games, one at home and one away.

In addition to these games against traditional rivals, the Falcons will also play a number of other teams from across the country. This includes several games against teams from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), of which Air Force is a member.

The Playoffs

The Air Force Hockey Team is set for its upcoming season with the playoffs just around the corner. The team is led by captain Jake Horton, and includes forwards Tyler Beasley, Max Johnson and Ryan Schmelzer, defensemen Alec Rauhauser and Dominic Toninato, and goaltender Hayden Hawkey. The team is looking to build on last year’s success, when they made it to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history.

The National Tournament

The National Tournament is the premier event for Air Force Hockey. The tournament is held annually and features some of the best teams in the country. This year, the Air Force Hockey team is set to compete in the tournament. The team is made up of 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalies.

The Frozen Four

The Air Force Falcons men’s Ice Hockey team is excited to announce their roster for the upcoming season The team is looking forward to defending their title at the Frozen Four, and they are confident that they have the skills and experience to do so.
