The Renegades will be back in action on Thursday, February 6th when they host Porterville College at 2:00pm. Bakersfield will then host Cuesta College on Saturday, February 8th at noon re Playing their first Home game of the season on Sunday, February 9th against Allan Hancock College at 1:00pm.

The Renegades played their first game on February 1 against Porterville College. The game was a home game, and BC won with a score of 9-3. The next home game is February 15 against Taft College. Here is the full schedule:

Entering the 2018 season, returning sophomore infielder Domingo Ayala led the team in several offensive categories. In 2017, he played in all 40 games and had 115 at-bats with a .392 batting average .489 on-base percentage and .507 Slugging percentage He also had 29 RBIs, 35 runs scored and 10 stolen bases
Highlights
The Renegades will be playing 32 home games and 32 away games in the 2019 season. Some of the highlights of their schedule are as follows:
-They will be opening their home game season on Friday, February 15th against Bakersfield College at 3:00 pm.
-A 5 game series against Cuesta College from February 22-24.
-They will be playing 27 conference games in the Western State Conference North.
-Closing out their season with a 3 game series at home against Allan Hancock College on May 10-12.
Team history
The Renegades began play in 1915 and have been playing baseball continuously since then, making it the oldest college baseball program in California. The team has had 30 Major League Baseball alumni including Joe Ginsberg, Wally Joyner Kevin Tapani, Gregg Jefferies and Carlos Santana The team has appeared in five College World Series and 15 NCAA Division II Tournaments.
Rivalries
Most of the Odessa College Wranglers’ conference rivals are other schools in Texas. Within the Western junior college Athletic Conference they compete against Midland College, Howard College, Frank Phillips College Clarendon College, and Grayson County College All of these schools, with the exception of Clarendon, are located in West Texas The Wranglers also have a long-standing rivalry with Luna Community College in New Mexico. The two schools have been playing each other since 1955 and have met 106 times.
Alumni
Bakersfield college baseball alumni are invited back to campus for a special event on Saturday, April 6th. The event will feature a game between the Bakersfield College baseball team and an alumni team. Festivities will begin at 10:00am with a tailgate party and the game will start at 12:00pm.

The Bakersfield College Baseball Team is getting some media coverage this season. The team is currently ranked #1 in the state and #5 in the nation. They have a record of 22-2 and are considered to be one of the top contenders for the National Championship
