Founded in 1986, Nymburk Basketball is a professional Basketball team located in Nymburk, Czech Republic The team competes in the Czech National Basketball League (CNBL), and is one of the most successful teams in the league, having won the CNBL championship fourteen times.
Nymburk basketball plays its home games at the Sportovni Hala Nymburk arena, which has a capacity of 2,200 spectators. The team’s mascot is a black and white wolf named “Nymka”, who often entertains fans during breaks in play.
In addition to their fourteen CNBL championships, Nymburk Basketball has also won the Eurocup twice (in 2006 and 2008), and has been runners-up in the competition on three occasions. The Early Years
Nymburk Basketball Club was founded in the town of Nymburk, Czech Republic in 1992. The club began competing in the Lower Divisions of the Czech Basketball league and steadily worked its way up the ranks. In 2001, Nymburk made its inaugural appearance in the top-tier Czech National Basketball League (CNBA), and has been a fixture in the league ever since.

Jan Vesely: A 6’11” power forward/center, Vesely was drafted 6th overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2011 NBA Draft He played three seasons in the NBA before returning to Europe, where he now plays for Fenerbahce Ulker in Turkey.
Tomas Satoransky: A 6’7″ guard/forward, Satoransky was drafted 32nd overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2012 NBA Draft He played two seasons with the Wizards before being traded to the Orlando Magic in 2016. Satoransky is currently averaging a career-high 10 points per game for Orlando.
Jiri Welsch: A 6’7″ shooting guard/small forward Welsch played eight seasons in the NBA after being drafted 16th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2002. He had stints with the 76ers, Golden State Warriors Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers before returning to Europe in 2010. Welsch now plays for BC Khimki in Russia.
