Under the leadership of Head Coach Dan Kendall, the team has seen a significant increase in both its win total and its level of play. This past season, the team went 31-19 overall and won its first-ever conference championship

The History of Cal Lu Baseball

Cal Lu Baseball has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. The program was founded in 1903 and has been a Division I program since 1973. The team has seen its fair share of success over the years, winning five conference championships and making seven NCAA tournament appearances.

Cal Lu Baseball is on the rise, thanks in large part to head coach John Scolinos. Scolinos took over the program in 2012 and has led the team to new heights, including back-to-back conference championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Under Scolinos’s leadership, Cal Lu Baseball is poised for continued success in the years to come.

The Current State of the Program

The current state of the program is very positive. We have made great strides in recent years and our goal is to continue to improve.

We are a Division I baseball program and we compete in the Big West Conference. We are currently ranked #41 in the nation by Baseball America We have won our Conference Championship three times in the last five years and we have made postseason appearances in four of the last five years.

We have had thirteen players drafted into professional baseball in the last five years, which is a testament to the quality of our program. We are committed to helping our players develop and reach their full potential, both on and off the field.

The Coaching Staff

Cal Lu Baseball is a Division I program on the rise. The Coaching Staff is led by Head Coach John Scolinos, who has been with the program since its inception in 2006. Scolinos has led the team to five NCAA tournament appearances, four conference championships, and three Regional Championships assistant coaches Rick Benedetto and Mike Young are also integral members of the coaching staff Benedetto has been with the program for four years, and his experience as a former professional player and coach has helped the team to achieve success on the field. Young is in his second year with the team, and his passion for the game has helped to create a positive environment for the players.

The Players

The Facilities

The Facilities at California Lutheran University are some of the best in Division III baseball The on-campus baseball stadium Ullman Stadium, was completed in time for the 2012 season and has a capacity of 1,000 fans. The facility includes a state-of-the-art press box, locker room and training room. In addition to Ullman Stadium, the Kingsmen share the use of the nearby MLB spring training facility, Tempe Diablo Stadium. This gives the team access to top-notch facilities and allows them to practice against some of the best competition in baseball.
