#4 Henry Ford – Henry is a senior and has been on the Varsity Basketball team for four years. He is captain of the team and leads by example both on and off the court.

#5 Juanita Lopez – Juanita is a junior who is one of the team’s most versatile players. She can play multiple positions and is always looking to make a positive impact on the game.

#11 Malik Jones – Malik is a sophomore who is one of the team’s best shooters. He has a great work ethic and is always working to improve his game.

#23 Fiona Ryan – Fiona is a freshman who is one of the team’s most promising young players She has a bright future ahead of her and we are excited to see what she can do on the court.

Getting to Know the Team

The Basketball team at Central Catholic High School is composed of student-athletes who have a passion for the game and a commitment to teamwork. Here is a brief overview of each player on the roster, including their year in school and position on the court.

Senior point guard Julia Svoboda is the team captain and has been starting for the varsity squad since her sophomore year. She is known for her unselfish play and for her ability to see the court and make plays for her teammates.

Junior shooting guard Maddie Turgeon is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 15 points per game She has a quick release and is dangerous from beyond the three-point line

Sophomore small forward Allycia Goulette is one of the team’s most versatile players. She can score inside and out, and she is also a good rebounder and defender.

Freshman point guard Chloe Burton rounds out the starting lineup She is a gifted passer with good Court Vision and she has the potential to be a great leader for the team in future years.

The Team’s Strengths

The Team’s Weaknesses

The team’s weaknesses are their lack of size and experience. There are only two seniors on the roster, and they don’t have any player taller than 6-foot-5. They’ll also be without their best player from last season, who graduated.

The Team’s Schedule

The Trojans will take on local rivals such as St. Anne’s-Belfield, Charlottesville, and Fluvanna County before embarking on a tough stretch of road games against Atlee, Hanover, and Douglas Freeman. They’ll return home briefly to face Meadowbrook before ending their season with another road game, this time at L.C. Bird.

Central Catholic’s biggest rivals are the Merrimack Warriors whom the Raiders play during the “Holy War.” The two teams have been playing each other since 1912 and the rivalry is one of the oldest in Massachusetts. In addition to their long history, the two teams are usually very evenly matched, which makes for exciting games

The Team’s History

Central Catholic high school is a private, all-boys college preparatory school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States It is a part of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and is located in the North Hills suburb of McCandless. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Secondary Schools since 1996. Central Catholic is also a member of the National Catholic Educational Association.

The Central Catholic basketball team has a lot of young, up-and-coming talent that looks very promising for the future. The team’s two leading scorers are only sophomores, and there are several other players with significant varsity experience who are also still quite young.
